Other things to note Note that Fortescue, to include this listing, are located in the middle of a vast protected fish and wildlife management area. You will be exposed to all of the amazing aspects of this, but also exposed to seasonal flys ( most intensely, June - August) and insects which can be annoying when there isn’t any breeze. We provide a myriad of tools (see our bug wall photos) to mitigate this for you during your stay. By the middle of September and through May, this is largely a non issue. We believe the amazing aspects outweigh the seasonal insects. During the summer you will regularly see Ospreys hunting/fishing right off of the deck. You will regularly see majestic bald eagles doing the same. Both often flying right over your head. In the water in June and late May you’ll be exposed to the sea turtles coming into the bay and close to shore. You’ll occasionally be able spot whales, and dolphins. We provide binoculars and a large spotting scope as well for guest use. The photos of animals you see were taken by us with the our iPhone and the spotting scope. Other fish, crabs and horseshoe crabs will be regulars throughout the year. At low tide explore the beach for regularly finding sea glass and amazing seashells.
