Glamping in a forest of ohia trees and hapu'u ferns. This is a quiet little off grid cabin in the middle of a forest. If you love camping in the woods but also want a hot shower and bath, outdoor kitchen and a comfortable bed this is the place for you. It's 25 minute from any town at the end of a long gravel road. It's a great place to watch the stars at night. The space The dome is located at the end of gravel road in the back of the Fern Forest subdivision on the Big Island of Hawaii. It is about 25 minutes from Volcano National park and 45 minutes from Hilo airport. Punalu'u Black sand beach is 45 minutes up the road. 2 day minimum booking. You will have the entire property to yourself. It is self check in. Geckos will sneak into the dome. I make every effort to insure there are no insects in the dome but I can't guarantee it. The dome has a queen bed, couch, desk, mini fridge and table. There is an outdoor cooking/eating area with a propane burner, table and chairs. There is a clawfoot bathtub for hot baths and a hammock on the deck. The bathroom is about 15 feet from the dome. It is covered with a 5 foot privacy wall to enjoy the outdoors while you shower. You can open the shower area up if you prefer the full outdoor shower experience. It can get quite cold at night so extra blankets are provided. Warm pajamas are recommended. There is electrical outlet throughout the dome for charging your devices but please remember to turn off the lights when not in use as everything is run off a battery. High drain electronics like a hair dryer should be avoided. You can hear the chirp of coqui frogs at night. On clear nights you get a great view of the stars. You'll have the entire 3 acre property to yourself. You can park right behind the dome. Guest access There is a cabin on the property that is vacant and not rented out. You will be the only people on the 3 acre property. Other things to note 2 day minimum. Cell phone service is limited but there is wifi. Geckos have been known to sneak into the dome. I make every effort to insure there are no insects in the dome but I can't guarantee it.
