Description
At the end of the road, above the bustle and heat of Kailua-Kona, enjoy a tranquil space with an ocean view. From time to time, coqui frogs visit our neighborhood. They can chirp loudly when they make an appearance. The space Our 2007 Kona home is at the 500 ft. elevation on the west slope of Hualalai, far above the noise of constant Ali'i Drive traffic. We are on the makai (ocean) side of the street with mostly unencumbered views of the coastline and famous Kona sunsets. All utilities are underground. Perfectly oriented to optimize ocean and mountain breezes, you'll enjoy naturally cooler air up here. Multi-speed ceiling fans add to your comfort. Your room comes equipped with a mini-fridge stocked with bottled water and a couple of cold ones from the Kona Brewing Co. I have the fastest Internet on the Island and power strips for charging all your gear. We also have beach chairs, beach towels, snorkel gear, a cooler and boogie boards for your use. I have two cats, Martha and Darla. While we keep our home clean, if you are allergic you may want to consider another location. Want secrets, tips, and recommendations? We've got 'em. For example: hang out at the beautiful resorts without the expense of staying there. Ask me how!!! Guest access Enjoy a shared, full bath, 250+ MBPS Internet, the front and rear lanai and kitchen island dining area. Parking is available in our driveway or on our street. We have guidebooks, maps and tropical fish ID cards for your use. During your stay I work from home and am mostly social. There are times when I will be at work and not available for a conversation. If you have a question during this time, send us a message through the Airbnb application and we'll get back to you promptly. Otherwise, when work is pau (done) we are usually available to share the adventures of the day. We are happy to make shopping, tour, and dining recommendations. We will soon be listing excursions you can take with us; golf, spa, snorkeling, hiking, visiting turtle nesting beaches, swimming in the ocean with dolphins, traveling to the active volcano, Kilauea, visiting historical sites and artist enclaves. Other things to note On the islands and especially in our hale (home), everyone is welcomed as Ohana (family) and friends. We will relate to you this way and we invite you to think of us in this way. If we are not already connected via other social media, expect to receive an invitation from us there. Please note if we have approved your request to bring children with you, there is an additional $23 per night fee for each child when there are 3 or more of you traveling together. For instance, 2 parents + 1 Child=our nightly rate for 2 guests + 1 child @ $23. We provide an additional liter of Hawaiian filtered water, bath and beach towels, and if needed an additional set of sheets. We will send you a separate request for this amount. The following taxes are included in your nightly room rate: Transient Accommodation Tax: 10.25% General Excise Tax: 4% We are registered with the State of Hawaii TA-079-460-5568-01. We recommend only staying with hosts who are collecting these taxes on your behalf. Avoid a surprise charge at the end of your stay by checking with any host with whom you choose to stay about these state taxes. Finally, our living room doubles as my office during the day. I am often on the phone or focused on my work during this time. If you will be making business or other calls while I'm working, please do so from the privacy of your room or vehicle.
