The space This conveniently located self-catering apartment is on the lower level of our house. It is just a few blocks from world class snorkeling, swimming, surfing and boogie boarding in the heart of the White Sands Beach area off of Ali`i Drive. The ground floor separate apartment with private entrance and designated off-street parking consists of a bedroom with comfortable queen sized bed, living area with full futon, full eat in kitchen, spacious bathroom (shower but no tub) tropical decor and an outdoor deck for relaxing. There are ceiling fans in each room, but no AC. We find it comfortable most of the year, but you may not be use to tropical temperatures and humidity. Please consider this when selecting a place to stay. We are located on a quiet cul-de-sac, but there is some road noise from Alii Dr and the sound of the waves during high surf. We live upstairs and are usually up around 6am. We do our best to minimize any noise, but you may hear plumbing sounds, footsteps and normal household activities. If you are a late or light sleeper, our home may not be the best fit for you. The apartment is provided with a starter supply of paper goods, clean linens etc... but is self catering, not a hotel. You may need to purchase extra supplies or do laundry for yourself, depending on your usage. We love the Big Island and look forward to sharing our knowledge with you. Guest access Separate entrance, keyless coded lock. We recommend a car for ease of transportation. 1 parking space is provided, and there is on street parking as well. Closest bus stop is about 2 blocks away to the north. Beach park and restaurant is about 2 blocks away. Closest grocery is 1.5 miles south. Other things to note Cleaning fee is waived if you leave the apartment clean and as you found it. We ask that you: 1. Remove the trash 2. Wash all dishes 3. Wipe up any spills or messes 4. Report any damage 5. Notify us when you check out. In addition to the above, If you would like an excellent review on cleanliness, thoroughly clean the kitchen and appliances, broom up or vacuum up any excess sand, dirt and hair, and wipe down the bathroom sink area and toilet (sanitation wipes provided under the sink) before checking out. This is a separate, self catering apartment on the lower level of our house, not a hotel. There is a small, friendly dog and a cat on the property. We are up around 6am. Also, be advised during afternoon to early evening, you may hear acoustic guitar along with light singing.
