Home in Northampton
Description
Well-appointed, comfortable, 1920s single-family home in charming, tree-lined neighborhood, walking distance from vibrant downtown Northampton, Smith College, Connecticut River, and bike path. Fully-equipped kitchen, front porch, fenced-in yard, fitness studio. Mini-splits in bedrooms and living room provide ample, zone-specific air conditioning; fireplace supplied with wood for winter. Comes with friendly, handsome cat named Zeke. (No litter box!) Off-street parking. The space This is a 2-bedroom house, with queen-sized foam mattresses in both bedrooms. Additionally, there is an inflatable mattress (twin) and a very comfortable sofa in the living room, so theoretically the house could sleep 6 people. I live here, so the kitchen is stocked with everything you'd need to cook meals, make coffee, and carry on normal daily routines. The fitness studio in the basement is sort of a multi-purpose room - it can be an additional private bedroom, a room for stretching and yoga, a playroom for kids, a storage space and changing area, and/or a place to exercise. Guest access The house is located on the corner of Swan and Marshall streets. It is near Interstate 91 (running north and south from Vermont to Connecticut) so there is some background noise, but not very intrusive. It is a quiet neighborhood with very little traffic and plenty of on-street parking. You can also use the driveway in back of the house. The house has both front and side doors. The front door has a deadbolt with a keypad, and the code will be provided once you book. A set of instructions covering everything you'll need to know about the house will await you inside. Other things to note Zeke (the cat) Zeke is the perfect cat. He is low-maintenance and very independent, but also very affectionate and personable. He comes and goes through a cat door in the side door to the house. He always does his business outside, no there's no cat box to bother with. All he needs is a refill of his food bowls when they're low, but even that doesn't have to be on a schedule. Either I, or one of my friends, will be available to step in in case of an emergency, but the chances of that are very slim. Full instructions on his feeding, etc., will be included in the house instructions. One other thing. The house is located fairly near the Northampton airport. Small, private, propeller planes fly in and out of the airport on an irregular basis, and pretty much only during daylight hours. When the wind is out of the north, the planes take off to the north and fly over the house, which can be annoying. When the wind is from the south, they approach from the north and you'll barely notice them.
