Ever wonder what it might have been like to live back in the days when sugarcane was king, and everybody had a ukulele? Not only will you be delighted inside, but the atmosphere at Kona Islander, with all of its beautiful landscaping and meandering pathways, is just as enchanting. Cozy up in a real antique 4 poster double bed (This bed may not be comfy for people on the taller or larger side, it is a standard full size bed) This is not just a room in Hawaii, rather, it is old Hawaii in a room. There are modern conveniences, such as a microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and a small refrigerator with freezer. There is no stove, but you can BBQ by the pool! There is a big screen smart TV, Netflix, and Wifi, plus the extra quiet a/c will keep your room as cool as you'd like. This Unit is on the 2nd floor and there are no elevators. There is a beautiful pool with an ample amount of lounge chairs, a cozy, intimate hot tub, and a clean and accessible BBQ area, plus your own lanai on which to sit back and unwind while enjoying the wonderful island climate. For relaxing on any of the number of nearby beaches, there are 2 beach chairs, an umbrella, and a day cooler available for your own personal use. Born on the Big Island, my husband is a native Hawaiian, and knows just about everything about the island and all it has to offer. We live in Ocean View, which is just south of Kona, and are available to answer questions and give directions to all the fun spots. Kona Islander is located right in the heart of the charming and historic town of Kailua-Kona, and is within walking distance to many restaurants and quaint shops. Unless you want to travel around the island, you do not need a vehicle. There is no smoking in the condo, and no smoking anywhere on Kona Islander Inn property. Due to the ideal location, there is a 5 night minimum stay the week before Ironman. There is no bike storage available, no bikes can be brought in the room. Uber and Lyft are available on the island. You will receive a free on-site parking pass and parking is had on a first come first serve basis. Parking after 5pm can sometimes be a bit of a problem, but there are extra lots close by, as well as on-street parking. There is a laundry facility on site. If you have questions or need guidance, the front desk is very helpful. This condo is for 2 people only.
