Description

Kipuka Hideaway is artistic and serene retreat on the Big Island of Hawaii. It's more than a place to stay-it's an experience. Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, our retreat blends nature and serenity. Inside, the airy living space doubles as an art gallery with original works by your host, creating a one of a kind stay. A short stroll from Kehena Black Sand Beach, an authentic community vibe, the Hideaway offers the Hawaii you've been searching for- peaceful and timeless. The space Indoor-Outdoor Harmony With a breezy open floor plan, your indoor space effortlessly flows onto a sun-drenched porch and covered lanai where gentle trade winds and sunlight fill your days. The kitchen island provides ample kitchen counter space. The property is PV solar electric so all appliances in the house are electric including the induction cooktop and the Breville oven. There are instructions provided for its use but it's easy. We also catch our own rainwater and and have a 4 stage filtration system. The king size bed is found in the main house. There are two showers: one in the upstairs bathroom (but you feel like you are in the trees) and one garden level on the rear corner of the house (perfect for showering off after the beach). The house has two lanais. It's almost impossible to not catch sunrise and sunset. Our new overhead fans including lighting which helps bring clarity when you need it. We are proud to be a guest favorite, thanks to our wonderful guests. Guest access As a guest you have access to the entire main house and the land to yourself. 1 full acre of beautifully landscaped paradise. Feel free to roam the property, there are so many amazing flowering plants to sample and smell. There are papaya trees just up by the main house: perfect for breakfast or green papaya salad. Deep in the jungly backyard under the monkey pod trees, there is a yoga/meditation space with electricity and running water, but no toilet. Other things to note If your stay is more than 2 weeks, we would like to do a quick 2 hour mid-stay clean. The geckos can be dirty! Floors/bathroom/etc. Just the basics. Other things to note The Kipuka Hideaway is not equipped for handicap access. The space is best for 2 persons to enjoy. No pets allowed. Since this property is in a tropical environment there are bugs and creatures that live side by side with us. Birds, toads, frogs, geckos, mosquitoes, flies, black ants, tiny fruit flies etc. We do our best to maintain separation in our space but it is not possible to completely eliminate their presence for the interior of the house. Geckos are always inside every Hawaiian home and are a sign of good luck. They don't bite and are gentle creatures.
