Recently built 2-story home, has a beautiful and spacious (900+ sq. ft) 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment with large open living room, dining area and kitchen. Your privacy is assured, as you have the entire first level to yourself, with a completely separate entry and no interior access to the upstairs, where owner/host resides. Enjoy the Hawaiian way of indoor/outdoor living with a spacious lanai (400 sq. ft), completely furnished with a separate seating area, dining area and BBQ grill. The home is landscaped with beautiful trees, shrubs, native flowers and grass lawns. You can enjoy an amazing sunset, or some serious stargazing from a clear night sky, from the comfort of your own hammock. Or sip your morning cup of Kona coffee on the lanai while admiring the view. Because the home is located at a higher elevation (1300 ft.) you will sleep soundly and comfortably with trade wind breezes. There are many amenities to make your stay more enjoyable. A flat screen TV with extended cable, DVD and internet/wifi. Ceiling fans in every room. The kitchenette is fully equipped for you to make your own meals, or if you'd like to cook outside, a gas BBQ is located on the lanai. The apartment can accommodate up to five people. There is a queen bed in the Master bedroom, a daybed with twin-sized trundle (or can be made into a King size bed) in the second bedroom and a comfortable sofa/sleeper in the living room. Guests may use the washer/dryer upon request. The kitchenette is fully stocked with dishes, utensils, cookware and small appliances. Enjoy new kitchen appliances (full size stainless steel refrigerator/freezer/icemaker with ice and water dispenser in the door), double burner infrared hotplate, Keurig coffee maker, microwave, full convection/toaster/baking oven, rice cooker, toaster, blender and sandwich maker. A hair dryer is also provided for your convenience as well as towels and other bathroom amenities. You may also help yourself to an assortment of beach chairs, coolers, boogie boards, lawn games and beach towels. The owner/host lives in the upstairs unit. Respecting guests’ privacy is our primary concern. However, the host is available to help throughout your stay, including providing suggestions for daily activities, shopping or restaurant suggestions. The house is located in a very safe and quiet neighborhood, on a private dead-end street with very little traffic. Because families live here, this rental is not suitable for large gatherings or parties. A rental car is strongly advised, as public transportation is scarce and taxis are not easily found. The Kona airport is down the hill only about 10 minutes away. Excellent beaches are located only 10-15 minutes away, with the large resorts and beaches further north, approximately 20-30 minutes drive. The town of Kona is 10-15 minutes away, so you can easily enjoy all that Kona has to offer, while avoiding the traffic, noise, and hot temperatures by returning at the end of the day to your cool, tropical haven on the hill.
