Description
Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. Come visit the Roadhouse Cabin for one night or several. Don’t come expecting Pottery Barn or Hampton Inn. Do expect a comfy queen bed, memory foam futon, cool, artsy, handmade, recycled, reused gems. Low fragrance and fragrance-free cleaning and personal care products and of course, the BIG Sky. Star gazing here is phenomenal. The cabin is a fun and easy place with a great mix of old and new, amazing views of the mountains, sunrises, and sunsets. The space Welcome to the Roadhouse Vintage Cabin! Our cozy, one-of-a-kind retreat is a lovingly restored 1950s motel suite/office with a story to tell. Moved from Whitehall to our sprawling 100+ acre property, this little gem is a perfect blend of nostalgia, creativity, and modern comfort. We preserved the charm of the original metal kitchen cabinets, kept the linoleum living room floor, and gave the classic knotty pine paneling a fresh, warm white update. Vintage light fixtures were reimagined with paper, wood glue, and locally gathered shrub branches and seeds. In the bedroom, we installed a hand-painted paper floor that beautifully mimics aged farmhouse wood. Then, we upgraded. A brand-new heated ceramic tile floor in the kitchen and bathroom keeps your feet toasty after a shower or while making your morning coffee. We swapped out an odd plastic shower contraption for a galvanized metal surround with a sleek bi-fold glass door. The kitchen features a newly built peninsula, fresh tile backsplash, and a stylish glass tile counter upgrade to replace the old faux-wood Formica. And then, we curated. The space is decorated with hand-picked, original folk art pieces—quirky, bold, and full of character. Can you tell we put our heart and soul into this place? It’s a must-stay hidden gem just 10 minutes off I-90, between Whitehall and Butte, Montana—affordable, memorable, and uniquely inviting. What’s Nearby? Whitehall itself is an artistic little town, featuring murals depicting Lewis and Clark’s journey through the area. Hungry? The Two Bit Saloon & Grill serves up incredible burgers, homemade fries, fresh-baked buns, and local beers—plus a pool table and an unpolished charm that makes it a true Montana experience. Want something more upscale? La Hood in Cardwell (10 minutes past Whitehall) is a recently rebuilt historic restaurant with amazing food and breathtaking views of the Jefferson River. Craving a classic diner breakfast? The K-Bar has you covered with homemade cinnamon rolls. Need your espresso fix? Whitehall has two drive-throughs serving the real deal. Adventure Awaits Within an hour (or less), you’ll find endless opportunities for hiking, biking, off-road trails, horseback riding, fishing, and even the famous Ringing Rocks. Or, take a trip to Butte for mine tours, unique restaurants, and seasonal events. What to Expect at Roadhouse Vintage Cabin A comfy queen bed + memory foam futon A cool, artsy space with handmade, recycled, and repurposed treasures Low-fragrance & fragrance-free cleaning and personal care products Phenomenal star-gazing under Montana’s BIG SKY Incredible sunrises & sunsets with mountain views We live on the property but respect your privacy—you’ll have your own space, but we’re here if you need anything. Want to explore? Feel free to roam our 100-acre property, take in breathtaking valley views, or cool off by dipping your feet in our tree-lined creek on a hot summer day. Come stay for a night or more and experience the perfect mix of old-meets-new, comfort, and character. Just don’t expect Pottery Barn or the Hampton Inn—this place is something far more special. Guest access You'll have exclusive use of the cabin. Please note that there are two other homes on the 5-acres, one of which belongs to the owners. The homes are spaced out and you'll have as much privacy as you desire. Other things to note No parties. Quiet conversations only after 9 pm outside. No smoking indoors. Use outdoor cigarette ash container. No fires except in fire pit, mostly in late spring and sometimes summer. Extinguish fires before you leave to go inside. No unattended fires. Bring your own wood or gather wood from piles by creek. You might notice a slight metallic smell or taste in the tap water—this is due to trace minerals in the local water supply. It’s completely safe to drink, and running the tap for a minute or two usually clears it up. For clean, great-tasting drinking water, we’ve provided a Berkey water filter on the counter. If the bottom reservoir runs low, just refill the top with tap water (careful not to overfill).
