Home in West Tisbury

Studio House is the perfect combination of space, peaceful surroundings, and comfort. Located near a secluded, 10-acre, freshwater pond, (note: lovely setting, but no pond view from house) it is nestled in the woods, but still just minutes from Vineyard Haven and W. Tisbury. Sleeps 10 with queen bed & 2 prs. twin beds (combine to make a king) in bedrooms + 2 new full-size futons & 2 long couches in loft and living room, & there's even a pack 'n' play! The space The main living area is enormous, with skylights in the cathedral ceiling, a variety of seating choices, and a wood-burning stove (great for chilly evenings!). It is open to the large dining room with an expansive table, lovingly hand-made especially for Studio House. There is enough room here for meals at one end and a puzzle or game at the other. The kitchen boasts a gas stove, double oven and double sink. Enjoy preparing your meals together on oodles of counter space, while catching glimpses of goldfinches or deer out of the plentiful windows. Imagine waking up to sunlight filtering through the trees, hearing the leaves swishing in the wind, and birds singing outside your window. The main suite promises all this, along with a comfortable queen-sized bed, and bathroom with a stall shower. Upstairs in the loft area are two additional sunny bedrooms, each with two twin beds. The loft also contains a second bath (with a tub/shower), skylights, and a futon in an open area overlooking the living room. Even more great amenities include the mud room, with a washer/dryer, utility sink and a second refrigerator; an outdoor shower (nothing is better than an outdoor shower after a long day at the beach, or at night under the stars); and a large, split-level deck. Studio House enjoys a grassy yard with a lovely garden, the surrounding forest, and a quick walk (less than five minutes!) to a private, freshwater pond -- the best swimming on the island. Studio House shares a sunny pond entrance, including a wooden dock, a canoe, and a kayak, with one other private (non-rental) home. With just a ten-minute drive to Lambert's Cove Beach, or into Vineyard Haven, you cannot possibly improve upon the combination of peaceful seclusion and convenient proximity to beach and town! Guest access The entire house is available for your use. There are also a canoe and 2-seat kayak at the pond with paddles and life preservers. Towels (beach and bath), sheets, and all kitchen supplies are available for your use. Food is not provided. Other things to note IMPORTANT: Massachusetts has just imposed a 5.7% tax on short-term rentals that start after 7/1/19. West Tisbury has opted to add a local tax to that of 6%. Airbnb adds this tax directly to your quote. For a week in-season, it usually comes to about $300. We rent weekly, with stays beginning and ending on Saturdays. Wifi and cable are available from May-October.
