Hi! Thanks for checking out our page. We are Rachel & Justin. We are new to hosting but this Buttermilk Bungalow is not! Having had 3 previously very successful years helping families such as you make amazing lifetime memories on gorgeous Buzzards Bay, we hope to keep the tradition alive. This exceptional cape house is our home away from home, and we hope that you love it as much as we do. Minutes to local beaches, Cape Cod Canal, & a short drive to Plymouth, Falmouth and other Cape towns. The space Fabulous waterfront property on Buttermilk Bay in Buzzards Bay / Upper Cape Cod. We call our home The Buttermilk Bungalow. Style, comfort, nature, beauty, relaxation, and uniqueness were the inspirations behind The Buttermilk Bungalow. The home and landscape have been re-designed under the guidance of one of Boston's top designers. Modern, whimsical, and Cape Cod focused style and comfort will make anyone who appreciates design smile. The waterfront views are stunning! Whether you are having your morning coffee in the kitchen, checking email in the office, outside on the furnished deck, grilling your favorite meal, or sitting in one of the Adirondacks down at the water's edge, you will have a breathtaking scene to enjoy. The seasonal sunsets may rival the best you've seen on any vacation. Relax around the sunken fire pit while the sun disappears behind the bay. Spring and Summer fauna provide near perfect privacy in the bayside yard. Ospreys, great blue herons, hawks, and egrets all play and catch their meals in eyes' view of your favorite place to sit - in or outside. Fiddler crabs scurry into their homes as you walk along the water. Take a trip to the middle of Buttermilk Bay, or to a beach, or sandbar, on one of the provided kayaks. Painters, photographers, birdwatchers, and nature lovers will appreciate the landscape and wildlife in and around Buttermilk Bungalow. ****OFF SEASON GUESTS PLEASE READ: Kayaks, outdoor furniture (including deck lounge/dining and Adirondack chairs), outdoor shower water, and grill are usually decommissioned for the winter sometime in early November. They will remain in storage until Spring. Depending on our schedules, bookings, weather, etc. we may or may not have these items available in the Spring. If booking between late October and May, please check with us to determine if these features are available for the dates you are interested in booking. If guests choose to venture out from the oasis of The Buttermilk Bungalow there is plenty to see and do: • Main Street Buzzards Bay and Cranberry Highway are both right around the corner and provide some new and classic eateries, antiques shops, entertainment, and all the amenities you might need. • Classic Cape Cod towns (and their beaches, shopping, dining, site seeing….) like Falmouth and Sandwich are very close for you to explore. • The breathtaking beaches and nature of Truro and Chatham (watch out for the Great Whites!), or the art/culture/food of Provincetown make excellent day trips. Guest access The entire home (excluding the basement) is accessible to guests. Additionally, the deck, yard, and waterfront are for guests to enjoy. Walking along the reeds/water towards the small boat launch is permitted (you may want to launch the kayaks from this location). Outdoor features: • Sunny private outdoor shower • Two adult-sized / two child-sized kayaks are provided (w/lifejackets) • Furnished deck with designer sourced chairs, table, umbrella, and sofa (outdoor dining for 6) • Weber grill • Fire pit by the water (seating for 6 and a picnic table) • Adirondack chairs and designer outdoor furnishings at the bay wall • One clearly placed outside security camera for added safety • Private round stone driveway for 3-4 cars • See amenities for more…. FOR THOSE WITH MOBILITY LIMITATIONS: First floor features bedroom (queen sized bed) and bathroom. To reach the yard from the deck, stairs are required. However, you can also access the yard with fewer steps by using the front entrance and walking down the driveway. TRAVELING WITH INFANTS AND TODDLERS: We have not baby or toddler proofed the home/property for safety. We may be able to offer some amenities (pack n play, high chair, etc.). However, we kindly ask that you reach out to us via the app to discuss. NO PETS Policy: Unfortunately, we do not allow pets :/ We have a dog of our own but soon discovered that our trips to The Buttermilk Bungalow were less relaxing as we were worried about the furniture, floors, rugs, and the non-fenced-in yard. Our dog enjoys (and he is picky!) stays at the close-by and affordable Animal Inn (Sandwich, MA).
