Welcome to Dwelling Place Unwind at our peaceful, open-plan carriage house apartment, tucked away on thirteen wooded acres. Seeking adventure or relaxation, this is your perfect escape. Minutes from recreation-rich lakes and trails of the north Quabbin; easy access to hiking, kayaking, leaf peeping, and snowshoeing. Also close to golf, disc golf, and an equestrian center. Return to tranquility to rest, recharge, and experience a true retreat in nature—perfect for all seasons. The space This is a second-floor, 1100-square-foot, open-format space above a 3-car garage below. The room has four sections: kitchenette, main bed, secondary futon couch bed, desk, and sitting area with games and television. There is a full bathroom with a shower. It is accessed through the garage bay and the back door leading to an outdoor picnic table, grill, and fire pit. There are 3 acres of cleared ground surrounded by 10 acres of woods. At this time, the woods are not accessible to guests, but they can enjoy our peaceful meditation/prayer labyrinth. There is parking in front of, or in, the left bay for one automobile, with additional parking off to the right. This listing cannot accommodate pets. Guest access Guests are welcome to use the space and the back picnic area freely. They may walk the cleared grounds and use the meditation labyrinth, but are asked to stay out of the woods at this time. Guests are requested to respect that the owners live on the property. Other things to note Although child-safety locks are on cabinet doors, this space is not suitable for toddlers. Babies not yet walking are welcome. Please let us know in advance if a pack-and-play is needed. Please be cautious: There are wild creatures, e.g., black bears, in the woods. Food should not be left in cars or outside. Although we provide some bottled water as a 'welcome' amenity, our tap water is filtered and drinkable. For guests wishing to enjoy the fire pit: There is some kindling available; we recommend you bring wood if you wish to use the fire pit on multiple occasions. Out of respect for future guests, we request that you refrain from cooking food that can leave a strong odor. Please observe appliance safety protocols (on site) and refrain from bringing kitchen appliances, e.g., a hotplate. Thank you.
