Charming Waterfront Cottage Near Cambridge/Boston

Delightful 1-bedroom guest cottage in Arlington with picturesque waterfront views and cozy interiors. Tucked away on Spy Pond, the cottage offers a peaceful retreat and a short drive to Cambridge (10 min to Harvard Square), Boston (20-25 minutes to Logan Airport), and Harvard, MIT, Tufts, BU. Comfortable furnishings and an abundance of windows overlooking the water create a bright and calming backdrop for your stay. Enjoy getting away from it all, while being close to everything you might need! The space The 800-sf home consists of one bedroom, open living and dining space, kitchen, and bathroom. The main living area with a dining nook is the perfect vantage point to enjoy the natural beauty of Spy Pond while reading a book or sipping your morning coffee. It has a queen sleeper sofa to accommodate those traveling as a small family or close friends. The bedroom features a queen bed with hybrid mattress, a large closet, full length mirror, and a desk for anyone needing to work remotely. Woven window shades include blackout liners for darkness and privacy. The bathroom pairs cottage charm with a modern walk-in shower. Likewise, the sunlit kitchen is outfitted with all new appliances, including fridge, electric stove/oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, electric kettle, and dishwasher. The cottage is nestled in a small and quiet private cul de sac shared among several homes, including our main house. It has its own driveway for one small-to-midsize car to park. The yard along the water’s edge is shared and guests are welcome to use it to relax and take in nature. Walk out the front door and you’ll find terrific restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, library, scenic walking/biking trails, playgrounds, and parks—all less than a 3/4-mile away. We are happy to share recommendations! And if you are looking to explore via public transit, the Alewife T station (Red Line) is less than 2 miles away and bus stops are just across the street. Our guest home has been thoughtfully updated and cared for, and we hope to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The cottage comes with air conditioning (two ultra-quiet window AC units), high-speed WiFi, and washer/dryer (upon request). It is stocked with essential toiletries, towels, bed linens, iron/ironing board, and hair dryer. We can also provide baby/kid-friendly gear, toys, and books for those with small children. Guest access Guests have access to the entire home except for the unfinished basement. Access to washer and dryer units in the basement may be available upon request. The waterfront yard is shared space that guests are permitted to use; please note it is off a steep incline and accessible via paved steps. Other things to note A single off-street parking space is included and is limited to one small-to-midsize car. You will need to drive down a narrow road with tight turns to reach the dedicated parking spot. If you have a large vehicle, please notify us in advance and we can look into alternate parking arrangements. Be considerate of our neighbors and keep in mind that our homes are close together. We want to ensure a peaceful and safe atmosphere. Drive slowly in the shared driveway at all times. There are young children in the neighboring homes who may be playing outdoors. Please confirm the number of guests before booking. Accommodations for 2 overnight guests are included; up to 4 guests max are allowed. Each guest beyond 2 guests is an additional $50/night.
