Description
The private apartment is on the 1st floor of a Victorian home built in 1880 and located steps away from the Salem Common and a 5–10 minute walk to Salem’s historic center and a 15-minute walk to the train station or ferry terminal. Includes living room (queen sofa bed, wifi & TV), bedroom (queen bed), kitchen, and bathroom (off the bedroom). There are 2 tandem off-street parking spaces in the driveway (In October non-resident street parking is punishable by a $75 fine). Guest access Full private apartment on the first floor of a historic home and access to the front porch (with benches) and back yard with table and chairs. Smoking permitted outside. Other things to note Salem is very busy in October and the Police often block off roads near downtown for foot traffic (your GPS will not know the roads are blocked off). You should expect long traffic lines getting to Salem on weekends and Halloween. Best trick to avoid traffic jams (assuming you are coming from route 95/128N and your GPS shows all "red" roads leading to Salem) is to continue past the Salem exits until you come to the Beverly exits. Take the first (or any) "Beverly" exit and then your GPS will recalculate the route to our home through Beverly. You will avoid all the traffic leading to Salem and the downtown Salem traffic by coming in through Beverly.
