Relax on the river bank surrounded by moss draped 100 yr. old Oak trees as you enjoy the boats meandering up river. There are often art walks, local craft fairs or boating activities taking place on the river shore. While Madisonville is a small town don't be fooled, Downtown Madisonville boasts of numerous restaurants... Mortons Seafood, Crabby Shack, Abita Roasters..... For entertainment, The River Shack, Orlando's Seafood Rest. & Live band, For fine Dining try The Water Street Bistro. Don't miss these unique shops, St. Romains European Antiques & The Rustic House Furniture Store. Stroll a block from the River to the Morgan St. Parisian French Bakery for a sweet treat. Also, Madisonville is well known throughout Louisiana for the Wooden Boat Festival in October, here you will experience Live entertainment, numerous food vendors, and the main attraction ....the amazing Wooden Boat Vessels. This is a weekend of a party like no other. Don't miss this event! A must-see is the Lake Ponchartrain Basin Maritime Museum, where you will learn about Louisiana Cajun Maritime way of life & include a tour of the Madisonville Lighthouse. Go partteee in the city and come back & rejuvenate at our home in Madisonville. Madison Bend is tastefully decorated. I am an interior decorator, and I have gathered beautiful furniture and accessories for years that adorn this home. As a decorator, I constantly change and add to the decor, so it is my passion and I love Madison Bend and want it to be a reflection of my heart-felt love for this property. I hope you feel the same during your stay. You will have to let me know if you need our ( Flex room as bedroom prior to your booking, as I have to prepare it) Guest access Guests can access the main house, porches, spa, and the covered arbor. Sit outside on the porches that wrap around the front and sides of the house, swing on the porch or enjoy rocking on the rocking chairs across the front porch and catch the view of the huge Oak trees, pond and the gardens while sipping your morning coffee. Inside you will walk into a full kitchen, with all upscale appliances, a coffee bar, an oversized center island for guests to gather at for breakfast or just hang out. The kitchen is open to the 1000 sq. ft living and dining room with soaring 25 ft. vaulted ceilings open to the 2nd story balcony. A focal point in the living room is the massive fireplace with 100-year-old Cypress mantel shelf. The dining room table was hand-made by Clayton from an aged cypress local sistrunk dated in the 1800's. It can seat 10-12 plus for dining. The spacious living room can seat 20-plus guests The white linen furniture sets the tone for a relaxing atmosphere. Open the French doors and enjoy the fragrant breezes from the rose garden. Upstairs you will have difficulty deciding which bedroom is the choice room. Each has quality bedding, and beautiful decor with French linens to assure you of a dreamy night's sleep. About our Grounds Our home is situated on 3.5 acres, all surrounded by mature oak trees and lush gardens including a catfish pond that has an abundance of catfish for you to hook up and fry up! There is a large Pergola with tables and chairs, swings and a green egg cooker. Included is a heated swim spa large enough for 12. It is the perfect relaxation to end your fabulous day!!!!! Our Home is professionally sanitized as per Covid regulations Other things to note Our property is a perfect venue to have a "Special Occasion" event. If you are interested in booking our property for your special occasion, such as a wedding, a reception, a family party/reunion, a business retreat or an office party, we can make all of the arrangements for you as are needed, including, transportation, catering, entertainment, and create the decor & atmosphere to suit your event. To me, This is probably the most rewarding aspect of hosting our home ...sharing our Authentic Southern Hospitality by personally catering to our guests wishes. Message me with details and I will price our place accordingly. Rules NO SMOKING AT ALL IN THE HOME OR ON THE GROUNDS. Please leave our home as you found it, Remove all linens, not blankets or bed spreads, place linens on the floor by the beds. Put all towels in the washer, do not wash them our crew will wash them as we sanitize linens. The kitchen Island counter top is 200 yr old cypress, please use the pads provided to place hot food or containers on. If an area or a cabinet is locked or zip tied pls. do not open it, as there are some personal items at the home. Load the dish washer before you leave. Do not remove any inside furniture outside. Do not park on the grass. If you chose to use the hot tub please confirm with me first. If you have more guests for day use please convey that to me. No more guests than are specified in the description. Do not light the fire place, do not burn any candles, there are some candles that are led and that is permissible.
