Hale Sakai - Close to Kona Airport!
Clean, quiet, and comfortable, Hale Sakai is a 800 sq. ft., 2/1 private Ohana unit located in the Kona Palisades. Close to beaches, shopping, restaurants, and resorts, it's the perfect location for your Big Island holiday! Hale Sakai is a private, 800 sq. ft. ohana unit. The unit shares one wall with the main house, where the owners reside. Bedrooms feature one queen size bed and one king, with closets and dressers for storage. The kitchen features a refrigerator, stove/oven, and microwave, allowing guests to comfortably cook meals at home. There is also an outdoor area with propane bbq, seating, and lighting. Plentiful, offstreet parking is available for guests of Hale Sakai, including one covered stall under the carport. Guests can also make full use of high speed internet, bluetooth music speaker, shared washer/dryer, DirectTV, and outdoor shower. Areas off limits to guests include the main house/lanai towards the rear of the property, and open space underneath the main house. Guests are free to explore the peaceful tropical gardens that surround the property! My interaction with our guests is based on how much or little attention each individual guest requires from me. I am almost always available for helpful island hints and advice, and we also respect that some guests prefer a more private experience. I travel about one month out of the year, but will most likely be present during your stay. If I will be out of town, there will be a local contact available to answer questions and offer help if needed. We love the location and peaceful nature of our neighborhood! Located just 7 miles north of town, Hale Sakai is a quick drive to restaurants, nightclubs, golf courses, resorts, beaches, and shopping centers. Although the Hele On bus does offer public transportation around the entire Big Island, we strongly recommend a rental car to our guests. Uber/Lyft is available too. Although Hale Sakai can accommodate a maximum of 4 guests, the base nightly price is based on double occupancy. There will be an extra charge of $15/night for each extra guest. BUGS: The warm, tropical climate of Kona is a haven for many different species of bugs. Although our space is professionally cleaned between each booking, bugs will still occasionally be found inside. Ants, geckoes, mosquitoes, cockroaches, spiders, centipedes, bees, moths, and even scorpions are common throughout the Big Island. We do our best to eliminate pests by providing bug spray and screens, but those with intense fears of bugs and small pests should book elsewhere. Temperature: The temperatures in our neighborhood range from cool to moderate in the winter months (November - April) and moderate to hot in the summer (May - October). We provide extra blankets for the cooler times and the space is equipped with air conditioning, three ceiling fans, and three floor fans for the warmer times. In an effort to conserve energy and keep cooling costs down, we ask guests to keep all outside facing doors and windows shut while running the air conditioner, and to not run the a/c while the unit is empty. Cats: We have 3 friendly cats who lives on property and will most likely attempt to come near you to say hello. Although they are not allowed inside the rental unit, we definitely recommend that guests with cat allergies of any kind book elsewhere. Parties/Gatherings: No parties or large gatherings are allowed.
