Private room in vintage carriage house on the National Register of Historic Places. Separate building so you can enjoy comfort AND privacy! King bed sleeps 2, private bathroom with shower. Sitting area with sofa, satellite TV and highspeed wifi. Quiet neighborhood, gorgeous grounds! The space We are a professional, licensed bed & breakfast in business for 20+years. Our property's main house and guest house are brick, 1880 Victorian-style buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Inside decor also reflects the Victorian era and history of the families that owned and built the property. The buildings sit on a 2 acre, wooded estate that existed prior to the surrounding NW neighborhood. Guest access Guests have access to the guest house, their room, utility room with mini fridge, scenic gardens and pergola with outdoor seating. Guests are welcomed into the main house for a filling, plated and served breakfast at a time of their choosing at no extra charge. During your stay Guests enjoy their rooms which are separate from the main house. However, my husband and/or I are almost always available to greet guests upon arrival, assist with special requests, and make recommendations on dining and attractions in the area. A filling and freshly-prepared breakfast is served in the main house dining room. Guests are welcome to keep to themselves but I am always happy to chat with them during breakfast about their travels or answer any questions they might have about the property and its history. Other things to note Nightly rate does not include 5% sales tax and 7% hotel/motel tax which is required in the state of Iowa. We will collect this from you on your morning of departure. We do have two little Yorkies that you may encounter in the main house. However, if you are allergic or do not prefer dogs, we can make special accommodations to prevent them from impacting your stay. (Although many guests find them to be quite charming!)
