Norsk Gjestehus 3BR – Peaceful Stay Near Downtown

In 2019, this beautifully restored home was transformed into three distinct Airbnb spaces. The largest, Norsk Gjestehus, spans two floors with three bedrooms, a full and half bath, and a high-end Scandinavian-style kitchen. Inspired by Mid-century Scandinavian design, it offers charm and comfort. For larger groups, the Norsk Gjestehus Flat and Studio can also be reserved separately, accommodating up to 10 guests in total. The space Welcome to Norsk Gjestehus, the largest of our three thoughtfully designed units. This spacious home features four comfortable beds (all located on the second floor): a king, a queen, and two twin beds, making it perfect for families or groups. Located just outside Decorah’s Historic District and only two blocks from Main Street, you'll have easy access to charming shops, great restaurants, and several coffee spots. During Nordic Fest, you’ll be just steps from the festivities on the Courthouse Square. The Vesterheim Museum and Porter House Museum are both within easy walking distance. Despite its central location, the home offers an unusually peaceful and secluded setting for a city stay. The bike path and Upper Iowa River are also nearby for those looking to explore the outdoors. Guest access Designated Parking & Key Code: Norsk Gjestehus offers a private parking space located in front of the upper garage on the left side of the house. You will receive a personalized key code on the day of your arrival. Front Porch & Bike Storage: The covered wrap-around front porch offers a relaxing space to enjoy your morning coffee or unwind in the evening. Guests are also welcome to store bikes on the porch or, upon request, in the garage to keep them out of the elements. Other things to note Each of the three apartments are private and do not share any space with the other. We do ask that you are aware and respectful of others in the house and mindful that loud noise does carry to the other units.
