It features a king bed, kitchenette (microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, and hot plate), and a private bathroom with a hot shower. The space Welcome to Butternut Cabin, the original cabin at Pilgrim Heights. Built in the early 1940s just after Sportsman’s Lake was created, this space was once a summer house for roller rink workers, later served as a staff cabin, and after years of sitting quiet, it’s been brought back to life for short stays, camps, and retreats. Tucked right beside the lake, Butternut offers peaceful views from its private deck and a cozy, rustic feel inside. Please note, if requested in advance, we have extra twin xl floor mattresses. Guest access Part of your stay includes complimentary access to the private lakefront. A release of liability must be signed in advance to use our kayaks, canoes, paddleboats, and any water activities you may want to enjoy at Pilgrim Heights. No outside watercraft’s allowed in the lake due to the ecological safety of the lake. Catch and release fishing only and only worms for live bait. Please review full water rules on the waiver. This waiver will be found in your cabin. If you do not find a waiver, please go to the office in advance to participate in water activities. Other things to note Here at Pilgrim Heights, we pride ourselves on providing our guests with a unique and natural experience out in the wilderness. While we do our best to provide a comfortable and clean environment for our guests, we want to remind you that our cabins are situated in a natural setting and so it is possible that bugs and other natural elements may be present. While we do everything we can to treat for bugs and pests, it's important to recognize that nature is, after all, nature. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that our cabins will be completely free of bugs or other natural elements. However, our team does its best to address any issues as soon as they arise and ensure that our guests have an enjoyable stay. We encourage our guests to take proper precautions when staying in our cabins, such as closing doors and windows when not in use and keeping food stored securely. If you notice any issues during your stay, please notify us immediately so that we may take action to address them.
