Surrounded by lush rainforest within the Mauna Kea Cloudforest Bioreserve, enjoy private streamfront access, waterfalls, a botanical garden, exotic fruit trees, and friendly goats. At 1,600 ft elevation, the cool climate offers a tranquil escape, perfect for personal or family retreats. The space You will be renting one of our private, off grid glamping cabins right alongside the Kikala stream. The cabins face the rainforest preserve next to the Kikala stream. The alpine tropical beauty that will surround you here is unsurpassable, and the views are breathtaking. The most spectacular waterfall and swimming hole of the Kikala preserve is just a short walk from the cabins, and the river runs right through the middle of our farm, so we can offer you access to over 1/2 mile of private stream front with incredible vistas that rival National Parks. The cabins afford a deep restful sleep, with nothing but the sound of the river and the jungle to lull you to sleep. They are the perfect space for eco-minded travelers. You will feel like you are in a remote wilderness yet you will only be 15 minutes from downtown Hilo. While the cabins do not have their own private bathroom, the cabins are only 50 feet away from the main lodge building which has full private baths with walk-in showers and has a kitchen and living area for your use. Please note that even though you have your own private space, this is a full service lodge, meaning that both the host and staff are available to handle any issues for you.
