Take it easy in this cozy, cottage getaway centrally located in Van Meter, Iowa. Newly remodeled, this early 1900’s home features three bedrooms and one bathroom. Located just minutes off I-80, we offer a very clean and comfortable stay for travelers, working professionals, or a weekend getaway! The space This 1900 home features a modern farmhouse facelift, with three bedrooms and one bathroom. The living room, eat in kitchen, one bedroom and bathroom are on the main floor. The upstairs hosts two additional bedrooms. The eat in kitchen includes cooking and baking essentials, coffee bar, and table that will seat up to four. The main floor bedroom sleeps two with a full size bed. One upstairs bedroom sleeps two with a twin size trundle bed, (this room is open to the main staircase so privacy is more limited, perfect for the kiddos!). The other upstairs room sleeps two with a queen bed. The bathroom is located on the main floor. It includes a walk in shower, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and additional essentials to make your stay comfortable. You’ll find eclectic, vintage decor throughout the home, collected and shared with the intention of giving a cozy, Midwest cottage-core vibe. Take advantage of the beautiful views of the sun setting over the cornfields as you sit on the back deck. The house is a short bike ride, or drive to the Raccoon River trail system, with a boat ramp and access to the river. Perfect stay for a float trip, fishing, and hiking! Bring your pet, your bike, your kayak, or just yourself!! Guest access The house is easily accessible with a smart lock. The code will be provided on the day of your arrival. The entire home and yard are available to guests. There is one locked closet in the down stairs bedroom that houses the furnace. The yard is not fenced but does allow plenty of room for a pet to roam on leash or off under a watchful eye. We do ask that you kindly pick up after your pet. Plenty of parking available on property as well. The garage is unavailable to guests. It serves as storage for the hosts. Please leave the garage door closed during your stay. Other things to note There is a step up required to get into both the front and back doors of the home. Stairs required to access the upstairs bedrooms. Being that this is an older home, the upstairs bedrooms can get warm throughout the summer months. There is a window air conditioning unit in one of the bedrooms as well as a stand fan to help with cooling. The furnace is housed in the main floor bedroom. If you are a light sleeper or sensitive to noise, this may not be the best room for you. There are ear plugs in the bathroom cabinet, please help yourself!
