Rustic Retreat at The Old Post Office-Walk to Truro Vineyards

Description

Relax & enjoy a rustic retreat at historic The Old Post Office in North Truro! Conveniently located in walking distance to the Truro Vineyards (5 min walk), Salty Market, Captains Choice, the bay and much more. Living space features so much character with unique beach finds, and TV. Additional sleeping space in the pullout. Tranquil outdoor shower for post-beaching. Yard for walking your fur babies! Approx 12-15 mins to Provincetown. Close to the beautiful beaches of the National Seashore. The space Enjoy our little slice of heaven!! The Old Post Office is a piece of my heart and while we can't be here as frequently as we may like, we're happy to share and have guests experience the cape and fall in love with it the way we have! The property used to be two separate buildings, the old post office and the postmasters house. In the 70s, my grandfather and his brother combined the two properties to make it the charming cottage it is today! My family has enjoyed vacationing here for generations and there is surely no place like the Cape! The space is a unique, rustic but comfortable. Small in sq footage, but roomy enough for everyone, and a great spot to make memories! An amazing location close to the gorgeous National Seashore beaches cold storage (bay), coast guard beach, walkable to winery, salty market & captains choice. Plenty of amazing bike and hiking trails nearby. Get to Provincetown in approx 12-15min. Close to the bus stop and uber is available. *linens & towels not provided* we do NOT have a washer and dryer on the property, however there are plenty of laundromats close by. This is a rustic summer cottage with basic amenities. While there is no central hvac, we have never had an issue if we open the windows for air flow during warmer months and the house gets pretty cool in the evenings and also using fans. There is a window unit AC in the larger bedroom and cools the sleeping quarters just fine. If staying in the early spring or late fall, we have a wall heater in bedroom area and an electric fireplace in the living room, but recommend guests pack accordingly. BEDROOM LAYOUT: main big bedroom that has full/queen and a twin with trundle. Off that bedroom (separated by a door for privacy) is a smaller bedroom with a full bed. KITCHEN AMENITIES: The kitchen has everything you need for cooking a delightful meal at home if you choose to not take advantage of the amazing local restaurants. Plenty of utensils, dishes, cups, mugs, koozies, pots pans etc. Tupperware, ziplock bags, tin foil and such are there as a courtesy, if you use the rest of something we kindly ask that you replace. Gas stove, coffee maker, microwave, toaster included and outdoor grill as well. LIVING SPACE: Living room with queen sleeper sofa, and 3 other chairs/recliners for guests and a smart TV for streaming or take advantage of YoutubeTV. It has so much character with all the antiques and beach findings over the last 50+ years, it’s quite a conversation starter. Feel free to pop a wine cork on the ceiling with a note or initials on the cork as others have done and a great photo op! OUTDOORS: The outdoor shower is an experience and a beach house staple! While we do have an indoor shower, we always recommend using the outdoor one for the best ambiance and really taking in the tranquility the cape offers. PARKING: Plenty of parking for multiple cars and/or trailer. PETS: We are pet friendly and love our furbabies! But please only if you’re confident you can leave the house without evidence of animals. We kindly ask that you keep the animals off the furniture and bring extra blankets/beds for them. We have one XL 42” dog crate if needed, as well as a long leash for walks, and a spacious backyard for walking also. Many places in the area are very dog friendly! The home is located on a busier main road (shore rd), while this makes things super convenient-you may hear some road noise during the day, especially outside. Many guests still find the property peaceful and charming, but we like to be transparent about the location. We’d love to have you! Guest access Entire access to the whole house with the exception of an owners closet Other things to note Important to note again that *Linens & Towels are NOT provided* Upon arrival beds will be clean with mattress protectors as well as pillow protectors and a light quilt. If you don't wish to pack the linens and towels, there is a local company, The Furies, who you may rent from. There is no washer & dryer on the property, but plenty of laundromats in the area. We have basic toiletries to get guests started, but after you go through those, we ask that you kindly restock. During the colder months of early spring and fall it’s recommended to pack blankets/clothes accordingly, while we have a bedroom heater and electric fireplace In the LR, this is still a seasonal summer cottage.
