You have access to everything in the condo except two locked owner’s closets, one in the upstairs loft bathroom and one off the loft’s back nook. No fumbling with keys; self-check-in is convenient with the digital keypad. You have a designated parking spot directly across from the entrance, along with additional off-street parking upon request. Other things to note A Ring camera is installed at the front door, looking into the hallway entrance. There is just one designated parking space, but additional parking is available. If you need to park more than one vehicle, please don't hesitate to ask for details. We're happy to help. Although the building has no elevator, the condo is a third-floor unit. Only 1.5 levels of stairs are required, and the other 1.5-star levels are below street level. Bugs are common and unavoidable in Hawaii's tropical climate, but the situation can be mitigated by keeping the screens closed after dark. The unit is also constantly sprayed to ensure no “resident pests.” You may hear road noise as jalousie windows are not soundproof (they are slatted) but are a traditional type of window in the islands, allowing airflow and ventilation; white noise from the fans and AC units tends to mask any road noise. They also allow you to wake up to the sound of the tropical birds. Like most condos in the area, Keauhou Kai doesn’t offer central AC. The bedrooms downstairs have AC units; the common area has huge ceiling and floor fans and an AC unit that cools the living/dining and loft. Significant cross breezes keep these areas comfortable when the AC is off. Humidity can sometimes cause the doors and floors to swell, making them slightly more challenging to open.
