In 2019, this 118 year old three level house was renovated to create three new Airbnb offerings. Vossheim on Court is the large unit with two floors and three bedrooms, a new bathroom, new half bath and a new high-end kitchen. The decoration is Mid-century Scandinavian. Adding Vossheim Flat and Vossheim Studio provides beds for 10 guests. Each needs to be booked individually. This largest of the three units has a king bed, queen bed, and two singles. Vossheim on Court is just off the Historic District and two blocks to the Main Street of shops, restaurants and several coffee options. Nordic Fest events happen on the Courthouse square just steps from our door on Court Street. Vesterheim Museum and Porter House Museum are both within easy walking distance. The space is unusually private for a city location. The bike path and upper Iowa river are quite nearby. Vossheim on Court has a designated parking space in front of the upper garage to the left of the house. You will receive the key code the day before your arrival. We can store your bikes out of the rain on the wrap around porch or in the garage. You’ll find a lovely spot near the door for your morning coffee on the porch. I am close by but will not interfere with your stay unless you request assistance. 306 Court is just below the UCC church on Historic West Broadway and the backside neighbor is Decorah Lutheran. A wooded lot across the street is owned by the city. The bells of St. Benedict ring at noon. At the bottom of our little traveled street is the middle school. The Nordic Fest Rock Throw is held on that field. Walking is easy and fun. Biking gets you all over town including Luther College which is on the edge of town. Hometown Taxi will provide a wonderful ride if you prefer to not drive and will pick you up for any destination. Bru hop shuttle is available to transport you to any/all of the local breweries. Each of the three apartments are private and do not share any space with the other. Each unit has its own outdoor area. We do ask that you are aware and respectful of others in the house and mindful that loud noise does carry to the other units.
