This 2nd floor 1 bedroom, 1 bath condo is one of Maui's best kept secrets! Just steps from the beach or pool; extremely easy to go back and forth as needed. Sugar Beach Bakery, Farmer’s Market, ABC Store & Ululani’s Hawaiian Shave Ice are just a few minute walk via street or beach. Conveniently located less than 10 miles from OGG airport, downtown Kihei, etc. The bedroom has a king size bed and the living room has a queen sleeper sofa with 6” upgraded mattress with separate A/C units in both rooms. (Though we've purchased the best sofa sleeper we can find on island, please keep in mind it is in the end, a sofa sleeper and is probably best for children and not adults.) Bathroom is accessible from the hallway rather than through the bedroom- great for extra privacy if you do have someone sleeping on the sofa sleep during your stay. Kitchen with granite countertops makes it easy to prepare meals. Furnished lanai with a small ocean view and lush tropical landscape is the perfect place to enjoy coffee, cocktails, dining or simply to enjoy the ocean breeze. If you prefer to barbecue there are two areas; the beachfront lawn area has tables for dining outside or to enjoy watching the incredible Maui sunsets or the Humpback whales as they frolic offshore (seasonal). Free, private WiFi available. Beach towels, cooler and beach chairs available for our guest's use. Left-behind umbrellas and toys such as boogie boards and pool noodles may be available from last guests, but are not guaranteed. There is a gated pool and two separate bbq areas. There is a grassy lounge area by the beach with lounge chairs available, as well as multiple dining tables. These areas are shared with the other guests in this low-density complex (only 24 units total). Communal washer and dryers are available on the ground level and are paid for and operated by a cell phone app. No more need for quarters! An on-island contact is available for any emergencies, otherwise we are readily available by email. The PERFECT Maui location. We are located on Sugar Beach in North Kihei. Just 10 miles from the airport and centrally located, this is the perfect location to call home while you explore the island of Maui. The resorts of North Kihei are quieter and less crowded than the hustle and bustle of South Kihei or Ka'anapali. Perfect for relaxing, yet close enough to get out and explore. Sugar Beach is one of the longest beaches on Maui at more than 5 miles long. Enjoy a leisurely stroll, Maui sunsets and sight breaching whales (seasonal). In the mornings you may see the local canoe clubs out paddling. On a clear day you may even see the top of Haleakala. Maalaea Harbor is just under 10 minutes west of the condo. This small harbor village is home to the Maui Ocean Center Aquarium (ask us about coupons!), along with a collection of shops and restaurants. Many ocean activities depart from Maalaea, including snorkeling trips, scuba diving, sunset and dinner cruises, sport fishing, and whale watching tours (Dec-May). After a day out on the water, nothing beats being only minutes from your home base. Just south of us is the lively town of Kihei. Shops, restaurants, and a few larger supermarkets (Safeway and local chain Foodland) are only 5 to 10 minutes away. Here you will find some of the island's more vibrant night life as well. Another 10 minutes south and you've reached the town of Wailea, boasting some of the island's most expensive and exclusive resort hotels and private estates. Wailea features multiple championship golf courses, plus more shopping and fine dining. We recommend renting a car to explore all the special areas on the island. There is a free private parking lot for Kihei Kai guests. Public transportation, Uber/Lyft and Taxi's are also available. Follow us under the handle KiheiKai14and15. There is an on-site office but as we are a privately managed condo, we ask you send any questions about the island or the condo to us through Airbnb.
