Step back in time! Built in 1684, the Nathaniel Church House's, "Mizzen Bedroom", (in the sometimes owner-occupied Wayfarer Suite) is now available to book! You have shared access to the kitchen, sitting room, three patios, and boardwalk facing the Jenney Grist Mill Museum in one of the oldest homes in downtown Plymouth. 5-minute walk to the Mayflower, restaurants, and activities. The house is so old that the ceilings are very short - be prepared to bend over if you are over 6 feet tall! The space A meticulously restored family home, originally built in 1684 by my 9x great grandfather, grandson of a pilgrim, Nathaniel Church. The house is a real window into life in the 17th century but with all the technical amenities of the modern age. There are charge points everywhere and plug in ethernet at the desk in your room as well as whole house WIFI. To get the most out of the description please see the floor plans in the photos section. The Mizzen bedroom will be private to you but it's only available around my family visits. Family members do keep things in two of three dresser drawers and half the wardrobe. The ceilings are very low in the bedroom so it may not be very comfortable for some people over 6 feet tall. The custom kitchen is rather special with a petrified wood log as a sink and the sitting room fireplace is very cozy. There is a TV upon request but it is preferred that you watch or listen to media using your own device, with headphones. If you want to charge your EV vehicle you can rent the driveway charger ahead of time. I also use it to charge my vehicle. It is $15 per charging session and must be scheduled so as not to interfere with charging my vehicle. If you want exclusive use of the driveway and unlimited access to the charger it is $25 per day added to your bill. Please make the request ahead of time so that I can make other plans for my car. (I will charge my vehicle when you are out and about if needed). The driveway is otherwise reserved for my personal use. There is abundant free parking around the corner in the Gristmill lot and free street parking. All linens, towels, blankets and pillows are of the highest quality and are washed and or steam cleaned between guests to ensure a spotless germ-free stay. The mattress and floor is also steam cleaned between guests to disinfect and prevent bedbugs. The HVAC system is equipped with a UV disinfection system that cleans the air of dust mights, dander, pollen and more dangerous germs and viruses. In addition the living room has another air filter to further clean the air and keep dust to a minimum. There is a shared laundry room in the cellar.. There are three tiers of gardens, patios, and our own private boardwalk, where guests can sit and listen to and watch the waterfall, gaze into the leaves from the hammock, grill a meal and sit at the café tables, or enjoy the view of the lake with a cuppa. For $25 per person/per day, guests from the Nathaniel Church House may purchase day passes for the John Carver Inn's fabulous swimming pool/mini water park and spa across the street. The pass includes access to the pool, changing rooms, and towels. Guest access Guests have shared access to the first floor, known as "The Wayfarer Suite" (along with the owner and her friendly *giant medical alert dog*) through the back patio door, using an electronic key code. Don’t worry, the space does not smell like dog. Because he is a medical alert dog he is with me at all times and will not be hanging out or be in your way. He does not bark and is a quiet chill being. There is shared access (with the owner) to the eat-in kitchen, sitting room, upper patio, and (with other guests) the 2nd tier patio, the cafe-table patio, and grill area as well as the lower gardens, hammock, boardwalk, and laundry room. (Of course, the owner's bedroom and half bath is private). The bathroom is private if you are renting for 3 or fewer days. The dog, Petrusian, a 138lb, professional medical alert dog, is people-friendly but NOT animal-friendly so please do not bring any animal with you, it will be in grave danger. If you have a pet, emotional support animal, or professional service dog, I beg of you to book one of my upstairs suites if available, or pass on this listing. FOR YOUR ANIMAL's SAFTEY, I will turn away any guest who arrives at this listing with a pet, emotional support, or service animal for a full refund, there are no exceptions. During your stay Because we live in separate bedrooms, your's is "The Mizzen Bedroom, but shared access to all other spaces listed in the guest access area, the guest will necessarily interact with the owner and the owner's 15038lb professional medical alert dog. Guests may run into other guests in the laundry room or outside on the patios or in the garden. Other things to note There is coffee, tea, and breakfast cereal for guests. Sometimes I have time to cook for breakfast and will invite guests to join me if they wish. The coffee is on the counter opposite the patio door, and the cereal and milk is in the bottom right drawer of the refrigerator (the large green cabinet in the kitchen.) There is a TV available upon request with a Firestick attached. It receives MAX, Prime Video (with Discovery+ and AcornTV), Disney+ (with Hulu), Sundance Channel, Netflix, and Britbox.
