This cheery home is in the heart of the village, on a historic private lane, tucked in among native Ohia and Koa Trees and Hapu'u Tree Ferns. The space Oma's Hapu'u Hideaway is located in Volcano Village on Hawaii's Big Island, at a cool 4000ft elevation, on the side of the active Kilauea Volcano. Oma's is in the heart of the village, on a dead-end private lane, tucked in among native Ohia and Koa Trees and Hapu'u Tree Ferns. Wake to the sound of birds, walk to the coffee shop, general store, post office, and Kilauea Lodge's gourmet restaurant. Shower in rain water caught from the roof, cozy up on the bamboo couch, and gaze out at the loveliness that surrounds you. Oma's, a cedar A-frame mountain house, has a fully-equipped kitchen, one bathroom with shower, livingroom with Internet TV/Roku/Netflix, a loft master bedroom with kingsize bed and picture window views, and two downstairs bedrooms - one with a queen bed, and a child's room with a single bed. Free high speed and reliable wireless internet is available in the house. There is a weekly $20.00 extra bed charge for couples using an additional bed. The extra bed charge also applies for any additional paid guests who want to sleep in more than one bed. Extra bed fees, at $20 per week for each additional bed used, should be left behind in cash at departure. Total capacity is 5 people. Please note that the antique bed in the child's room is shorter than standard, and suitable for a person 5'8" or shorter. Guest access The driveway of Oma's can comfortably accommodate 2 cars. The house is on a one lane dead-end street in a historic neighborhood.
