Featuring a beautiful fireplace, full kitchen, dining area and wrap-around lanai. The front door opens on the spacious and comfortable living room, elegantly furnished. The living room includes a large on demand wide screen television and Highspeed 100Mbps wireless internet to keep you entertained and connected. Next comes the dining area, which overlooks the forest of native ohi'a trees and a door to the lanai. The attached kitchen includes custom wood cabinets, a stove and oven, large sink, full-sized fridge, coffee machine, kettle, toaster, microwave, and all other basic cooking necessities such as pots, pans, and utensils. Staples like coffee, tea, olive oil, and salt and pepper are provided. In the bedrooms you will find comfy queen sized and full sized beds and a spacious closet. The lanai has comfortable seating and is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the gentle breeze and the peaceful forest. Guests have exclusive use of the house and very private 1/4 acre property. There is an easy to access driveway and attached garage. Guests are welcome to use the laundry room which includes a washer and dryer and laundry detergent. It is located on the bottom floor of the house. The key is kept hanging in the kitchen. Guests receive a 40% discount to play 18 holes at Volcano Golf Course. We are available 24/7 if you need assistance. Our neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. On any given day you will only see a few cars pass and maybe a jogger or two. Unlike the lower elevations we do not have any coqui frogs. If you have a difficult time sleeping you can rest assured knowing that it is all but silent here at night. We are adjacent to the Volcano Golf and Country Club and just a short walk from the Volcano winery. A short drive along the highway (no more than a five minute drive) will take you to the famous Hawaii Volcano National Park where you can experience the incredible views into the volcanic caldera from the Jagger museum and walk through a quarter mile long lava tube! (These may still be closed due to the 2018 volcanic activity). But the drive to the ocean on the Chain of Craters Road is an easy drive and full of fantastic views. A few minutes down the hill is the charming and delightful Volcano Village where you will find grocery stores, gas stations, a selection of restaurants including Thai, and a weekly farmers market among others. A 30 min drive in the opposite direction will take you to Punaluu Black sand beach where you can always find turtles basking on the shores. Hilo is easily accessible via a 40 min drive down the hill. On the way you will pass other towns and shopping centers in Volcano Village, Mt View, Kurtistown and Keaau. If you would prefer to catch a bus you can do so from one of the bus stops inside the Volcano National Park and further down in Volcano Village. The bus does not stop inside our neighborhood. Both International airports, the one in Hilo (ITO) and the one in North Kona District (KOA), have rental car companies. Additionally there is Harper Car & Truck Rental if you want a 4 wheel drive for off road. The municipal bus service, the "Hele On" bus, is adequate for people who live on this island but it would not be possible to use the Hele On buses for sightseeing or exploring all the places which visitors will want to see. Volcano is 4,000 foot elevation. At night the outdoor temperature average is 53°F (12°C) and during the day time around 71°F (22°C). The house is adequately heated by the propane fireplace in the living room which has a hand held remote control along with an electric space heater for the bathroom. Per Hawaii County regulations: Quiet hours shall be from 9:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., during which time the noise from this short term rental unit shall not unreasonably disturb adjacent neighbors. Sound that is audible beyond the property boundaries during non-quiet hours shall not be more excessive than would be otherwise associated with a residential area. Guest vehicles shall be parked in the designated onsite parking area which includes the carport and all graveled areas. This unit shall not be used for commercial purposes.
