Welcome to Hilo Hale. We designed and built this house around the panoramic view of Hilo Bay and included all the amenities we would expect when traveling. The fastest available wifi that covers the entire property, quiet air conditioning in every bedroom\living space, washing machine and dryer, smartTVs with Netflix, Keurig Coffee Maker and much more. Hilo Hale is the house we dreamed of staying at when we travel, and we are very excited to be able to share it with you and your family. The space Our family loves spending time together and have made a centralized open space for a game night or watching movies. We incorporated modern materials for their aesthetics and function like sustainably sourced hardwood floors that mimic our endemic Koa tree, stainless steel countertops, and Carrera marble accents. We keep a variety of board games and a growing collection of books in the cabinets in the living room for you to enjoy. Every bedroom and living space has a quiet air conditioning unit so that everyone can enjoy a comfortable temperature and escape those humid Hilo days and nights. Our smart TVs are on swivel mounts and can be moved to best fit your needs. We have a wide variety of channels available as well as an AppleTV for everything else. Please let us know if your traveling with an infant or toddler as we will set up a pack n play travel crib and high chair. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire house which includes three bedrooms, two bathrooms, two living areas, kitchen, balcony, garage and laundry room. Other things to note Our house is next to the main road. We have installed double-pane windows and added extra insulation in the road-facing walls to ensure noise isn’t an issue while you’re inside. We also have another house on the property occupied by our handyman, Denis, and his wife, Flor. You may see them around trimming trees, cutting grass, or harvesting taro. Please note that the Hawaiʻi Transient Accommodations Tax (10.25%) and General Excise Tax (4.166%) are included in our nightly rate (total 14.416%). In some jurisdictions, state and county taxes are listed separately as their own line items, while in others they are integrated into the nightly rate. Regardless, the total price will remain the same. These tax rates are current at the time of writing but are subject to change based on state or county law and may increase or decrease accordingly.
