Location, location, location! Our property is literally steps from the Algiers ferry, levee, restaurants, bars and coffee shops! Enjoy our historic neighborhood while being just minutes from the endless entertainment the French Quarter has to offer. A little mid-century modern, a little boho and a little Scandinavian describes the decor of our newly renovated 2 bedroom 1.5 bath shotgun in Algiers Point. Our modern space is on point! The space Proximity to the French Quarter, recent renovations and design choices make our space exceptionally desirable. This modern space is one half of a double shotgun featuring a true shotgun floor plan with interconnected rooms. Guests enter into the living room followed by the dining room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom 1 and bedroom 2/bathroom. The space has just under 1000 square feet. My husband, a native of New Orleans, and I live in the apartment on the other side. The architectural charm was left intact during renovations and gems uncovered during demo were saved and incorporated into the design. Original crown moulding, fireplaces, clawfoot tub, heart of pine floors, and pocket doors are the real showstoppers here. In addition, we added shiplap, rustic corrugated tin and reclaimed barn boards from a farm in Wisconsin, to make a truly unique design. Quartz countertops, brand new stainless steel appliances, washer/dryer, new mattresses (2 full beds in one bedroom and a queen bed in the other) and completely updated bathrooms bring a modern touch to the home. The decor is an eclectic mix of mid-century, boho and Scandinavian design with a touch of farmhouse....I just couldn't decide on only one! The apartment has two bathrooms, a full bath with tub/shower combination just off the bedroom in the back of the house and a half bath off the kitchen. This is an ideal set up for middle of the night bathroom trips; guests in the first bedroom can use the half bathroom off the kitchen and guests in the second bedroom have their own bathroom. The apartment has central air and heat. In addition, ceiling fans in the living room and bedrooms offer a cool breeze. Algiers Point is a charming neighborhood with picturesque houses, tree lined streets, friendly neighbors and a refuge from the crowds on the other side of the river. The front porch is a fantastic place to people watch, drink a beverage and listen to the church bells, the ferry's horn and the music of the paddle boat on the Mississippi. Our home is directly across the street from a popular bar where patrons socialize at the outdoor seating area. I frequently hear playful banter and raucous laughter coming from the bar, which puts a smile on my face and reminds me that I am in New Orleans where food and fun reign supreme. Noteworthy items: -No smoking -No pets -No parties or events Guest access Guests have full access to the apartment, the front porch and the back deck. The back of the shotgun does have double doors that lead to a large deck. It's a great place to watch the birds and relax. Other things to note Free Wifi is offered. There is only one television located in the apartment (living room). Parking is available on the street and tends to be plentiful, but it is first come first serve.
