The Buffum House | 3 bed 2 bath

The Buffum House is a new, clean, and loved 1,200 sq/ft 2nd floor apt. in North Salem, just outside of downtown. Close enough to walk everywhere but slightly nestled into a historic neighborhood that gets away from the craziness. It is the best of both worlds. The train is a 5 minute walk but far enough to not hear it. North Salem has a few coffeeshops and breakfast joints a stone throw away. And, oh yeah, the apartment is awesome! Start strong and come stay in one of Salem's best offerings! The space We've got three separate bedrooms with unique appointments. We call then the chalet room, the yellow room, and the big bedroom. The chalet room sports a cathedral ceiling covered in natural t&g pine, cabin style transom glass, and lots of natural light. The yellow room looks like a pretty standard room but we balled out on the mattress because, well, it kinda is a standard bedroom; in a good way - it’s dependable, tried and true. The big bedroom has a natural aesthetic with green paint, natural wood features, plant accoutrements, and a walk in closet. All three rooms have smart tvs, queen beds, solid wood furniture, woven wool rugs, and luxury bedding/ mattresses. The living room and dining room areas are appointed with sequential lighting. You can use wall washed art lighting to illuminate the pieces we've acquired, wicker central lighting to light the whole space with warm lighting, or sconces for accent lighting in the walkways. the dining room has a functional wall mounted cabinet filled with crystal glassware and a solid-wood six-person dining table with comfortable padded chairs. The living room has beautiful furniture; a solid and heavy reclaimed wood piece under the tv, a handmade-in-india unique wooden ottoman, and a Hollywood style diamond stitched sectional sofa. The dining room has a 58 inch smart tv with an external Bose soundbar for better tv audio or connecting your phone via bluetooth. The kitchen has custom built wood cabinets, brand new appliances, a dish washer, an oven with convection and air frying capabilities, a range vent, low voltage under cabinet lighting, and a breakfast nook. We opted fro high end cutlery, refined porcelain dish-ware, and ergonomic silverware. It has anything you need, from strainers to a stand mixer and a toaster. Our fridge makes "crave ice" - my favorite feature- its clear, perfectly circular, ice the size between a golfball and baseball. There are two bathrooms. we call them the big bathroom and the small bathroom. The big bathroom is a comfortable and stylistically neutral bathroom with lots of amenities. It has a huge mirror, pleasing artwork, a large sink with vast storage space, a laundry unit, and steam shower. The small bathroom is very designer with Artdeco lighting, contrasting shapes, an explosion of green wall tile, natural wood floor tile, and interesting intersections lines of millwork on the walls. The space also has a private balcony off the living room. There are transom windows throughout the space for light sharing to contribute to the flow of energy throughout the space. It's a beautiful combination of historic millwork, modern amenities, and custom features.
