Bayou St John Apartment

Don't just visit New Orleans, but experience what it's like to truly live in this city. Our basement apt is located in one of the most magical neighborhoods of New Orleans - Bayou St John. We are just steps from the bayou, City Park, and the romance of lower Esplanade's restaurants. This apt is located downstairs at our home, and for New Orleans is considered a basement. It is, however, fully above ground. It's modestly furnished with a mix of new and antique pieces, and very kid friendly. The space Allow me to explain a few things about the house. We purchased the house a few years back, and performed a historic restoration to its early 1800's bones. We kept as many historic architectural elements as possible while updating the rest for the ease of modern living. You will see historic doors and trim throughout, original fireplaces, and window openings. All freshened up with brand new appliances, custom cabinetry, concrete floors, and central air/heat. I live upstairs with my husband and 2 small toddlers. We are conscious of noise transfer. We added lots of acoustic sound proofing between the ceiling and floor, but with toddlers it is hard to control at times. It shouldn't be an issue, just something to consider if you are sensitive to noise. We are only home a handful of hours out of the day. Typically just in the mornings and evenings, and we tuck in early ;) Guest access You will have private access to the downstairs apartment. This includes a front porch and off street parking in the driveway. Other things to note This is a shared dwelling, meaning there are several apartments under one roof.
