Built in 1667, the Daniels House is the oldest BnB in Salem MA. The Home is centrally located and within walking distance of historic sites/attractions, restaurants, the ocean, bars/pubs and live music. Consisting of 12 rooms , 7 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a common dining area, old family "hall", backyard patio/smoking area and remodeled kitchen for private events. The Daniels House is considered a Bed and Breakfast home and is registered with the city of Salem Reg # 1116. The space Your stay at the Daniels house will be a unique experience and transport you back in time as you sit by its 9 fireplaces and spend a night in what feels like a living museum. The house was built in 1667 by the shipwright Stephen Daniels, and has the honor of being one of the oldest Bed and Breakfasts in the United States. Lovingly restored by its new owners, Adele and Patrick, who purchased the property in 2019, each room has been tastefully redecorated and possesses a distinctive charm and personality. Many of the antiques have been passed along with the house from owner to owner telling a story like no other in Salem. There are 3 guest rooms available for rent and an additional room can be added to make a suite. Please inquire directly if you are interested in booking a suite. About the East India Room: Inspired by Salem’s maritime history and trade with the East Indies, this room has a distinctively Oriental vibe. Decadently decorated, it features two full size beds, a day bed, and early modern oil paintings. Located on the third floor, the East India Room is offered singling or as part a suite combined with the Butler Room and/or the Marion Room, with which it shares a bathroom that features an antique claw-foot bath. When booked as a single room you may share a bathroom depending on availability. During your stay We live in a portion of the house and will be available in person during the normal business hours. After hours you can reach us via phone or email. Other things to note We use a guest portal with a pre check-in process. You will be asked to upload a copy of your ID and answer some questions that we need to verify as per our policies and stated as rules to the lodging license issued by the town. Once the pre check-in process is complete, you will have access to our guest portal until after your stay. In the portal, you will find all the information you will need for your self check-in and stay including house rules, parking, discounted museum vouchers, early check-in requests (for an additional fee), celebration packages, tea service to your room and additional info about the Inn and Salem.
