Description
Bayouside Bungalow is the countryside escape you’ve been craving, just a few miles away from all of the best Louisiana attractions. This cozy 3 bedroom retreat is nestled beside our family’s seasonal you-pick sunflower farm (May/Oct blooms) and made for readers, artists, and nature enthusiasts alike. Complete with a large yard, water access for kayaking and canoeing, plenty of wildlife to spot and livestock to meet. Our bookshelves welcome you as you relax in the gulf breeze. The space This bungalow sleeps 6 guests. Bedrooms include: 1 queen, 1 full, and 2 twins. There are two full bathrooms upstairs, and one outdoor ½ bath downstairs. It has a full, equipped kitchen, open living area, laundry room, covered front and back porch seating, and a downstairs seating area and firepit. This house is elevated and will require guests to climb a flight of stairs. However, the large concrete space underneath the house can accommodate multiple vehicles or can be used as a gathering space. Every room has bookshelves full of the most eclectic mix of books. We have a “take a book, leave a book” policy. If you find something that you love and can’t put it down, we encourage you to keep reading it! Please pack something that you are willing to leave in exchange. All books with our emblem on it are to remain, as they may be helpful for other tourists exploring the area. Lots of yard space to park your boat for launches nearby at Avery Island or Delcambre, LA. We have two kayaks onsite (with life jackets). Traveling I-10 with horses or showing livestock at Sugarena? For a small additional add on, we have a small paddock and lean-to for traveling horse competitors with water and electricity. (Please reach out to organize this.) During cut flower season guests will have access to Petite Anse Farm during you-pick hours. If this is an attraction for you, please inquire about the blooming periods to insure the flowers will be smiling. If you would like to purchase a bucket of flowers for your ride home, we can make that happen. Guest access Booking with us provides access to Bayou Petite Anse by canoe, kayak and john boats. Our bayou is tidal, so you are recommended to check times for high tide and only head out when water is rising to insure levels will be high enough to return. During cut flower season guests will have access to Petite Anse Farm to pick fresh flowers during open you-pick events. If this is an attraction for you, please inquire about the blooming periods to insure that the flowers will be pushing their petals (usually blooms May and October). If you would like to purchase a bucket of flowers for your ride home, please let us know in order to arrange this as an additional experience.
