Historic house with pool 4 bedrooms and 3 bathroom

A classic example of 1880's architecture, our large home, is fully and tastefully restored with a deep respect for its place in American history. Our airy, light filled 4 bedroom 3 bath home has 2 staircases, and multiple sitting areas to relax and unwind, inside and out, making it ideal for 2 families or extended family gatherings. We have a screened-in front porch, large back deck, media/play room with tv, games, and puzzle table, as well as a grassy, flat yard with pool. Please no smoking. The space Welcome to our home. We are excited to share it with you, and hope you love it as much as we do! Enter from the Mudroom into the brand new chefs kitchen with bar/table seating for 12, as well as coffee station, half bathroom, and huge sliding doors to the raised back deck. The private deck has a 6 burner grill, plenty of outdoor furniture, and overlooks the pool, the garden beds (please help yourself), and the 5 acre quarry next door. (Please note-this is on our neighbor’s property). The first floor also has an en-suite king bedroom (with shower), as well as 2 large and beautiful sitting rooms, and huge screened in front porch with more dining seatings, a couch, rocking chairs, and ceiling fan. There are 2 separate staircases leading to the upstairs on either side of the house. The upstairs has 3 bedrooms, one with a trundle bed and pack and play, perfect for children. The other two have a king bed, and a queen bed, with large closets and comfy seating to read or lounge on. There is a full bathroom with bathtub upstairs with a separate laundry room, and large carpeted play/media room with a couch, tv, puzzle table, children’s books, and Wii. There are couches in every bedroom and comfortable seating throughout, as well as outside, and this home is designed for optimal comfort and relaxing. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, with almost no passing traffic. Our large grassy yard is perfect for children, and for all kinds of games and running around. There is a dart board in the basement as well as bikes and pool toys (please return them back here). Our neighbors are respectful, friendly, and quiet, making our house unsuitable for parties or pets. Ashley Falls hiking trails are just across the street, and Bartholomew’s Cobble nature preserve with 350 acres of trails is 1.3 miles away. Downtown Canaan has adorable eateries, yoga, multiple antique and thrift stores, and bars. Try the unparalleled coffee at Isle, and fantastic food at Blackberry River Bistro, (desserts are amazing), both 2 miles away, and owned by young locals. Solid margaritas/Mexican at Picantes 1.2 miles down the road. Stop and Shop for quick grocery runs is 3 miles away, in Canaan. Great Barrington is an easy 10 min drive and has a multitude of options for shopping, eating and strolling. Marjoram and Roux for lunch/breakfast, is excellent (the owner was Meryl Streep’s private chef), and Pixie Boulangerie is wonderful for classic pastries. Prairie Whale is fun for cocktails and dinner. Hammertown for home goods is impeccable. The Sheffield farmers market, excellent pizza at Roberto’s, and the library, are 4 miles away. The commuter train from NYC is 35 min drive. Guest access House has security cameras outdoors. We will provide instructions before arrival. Guests will have access to the whole house, expansive back yard, and pool. Cleaners will take their time and carefully deep clean, ventilate the house and sanitize all surfaces. We have increased our cleaning fee to compensate them fairly. No smoking anywhere on the property please. Other things to note There is a pool on the property. All children absolutely MUST be supervised at all times. Use of all features, including but not limited to: use of stairs, grounds, pool, or appliances, are done at the guests sole risk. Guests understand that they are fully responsible for use of all features, and owners shall not be liable for any claims related to illnesses, injuries, damages or actions arising out of or in connection with the misuse of facilities, natural events/disasters, or general accidents on facility grounds. Guests understand owners are not to be held responsible for damaged or lost personal property. Guests hereby hold owners faultless for any/all claims brought against them. Guests understand that by booking a reservation, they are effectively agreeing to the terms of this Waiver and Release of liability. Please note-absolutely no smoking or parties.
