Description
Welcome to the Pony Jail, still on the original build site from 1900. With 14 inch thick stone walls and 10 foot high ceilings, this renovated space provides a rustic comfort that is hard to replicate in another setting. The Pony Jail is located one block from the famous Pony Bar--one of the oldest continuously operating bars in Montana. Pony is 15 minutes from Norris Hot Springs and 25 minutes from Lewis & Clark Caverns. Come sentence yourself to a unique stay in a special corner of Montana. The space The Pony Jail is one open space. The building is approximately 250 square feet and contains a full over queen bunkbed, leather couch and a small table and chairs. A wood burning stove is supplied to stave off the chill on cooler nights. There is also a collapsible cot available for separate sleeping space. There is a mini-fridge, small coffee pot and microwave. The Pony Jail does have electrical lighting and outlets but no running water or shower. There is a spigot with fresh water (some of the best drinking water we've had) and a port-a-potty located outside. Located within a small neighborhood, we are close to a half dozen neighbors so we ask that consideration of others' property is respected. As an aside, our LSG dog, Stanley, does roam our property and is slowly earning a place in Pony as a local fixture. Although generally aloof, he is extremely friendly and will probably stop by to say hi and get pets. Do not feel obligated to invite him in. Guest access Guests get the entire building as well as the parking space behind the building and the small grove of aspen trees to the side that offer cool shade and a perfect spot to hang a hammock for an afternoon nap. Other things to note This is a historic building that still retains much of his rustic originality. It is not ADA compliant. Not recommended for people with conditions that affect their balance and/or mobility.
