The Nichols-Osborn house
Description
Bright, contemporary, centrally located, 1 bedroom apartment set in a diverse, urban residential neighborhood within walking distance (.5 mile) to Salem's attractions. Built in 1838, the Nichols-Osborn house provides a historic setting with contemporary sensibilities. The space The Nichols-Osborn house is a lovely private first-floor apartment, accessed through a shared front entrance with two steps. It features a cozy bedroom with a double bed, an eat-in kitchen, a bathroom, and a living room. The convenient location makes it easy to access downtown Salem and transportation. We are walkable within minutes to all the best Salem has to offer including restaurants, shops, and sites. Bed linens and towels are provided. The kitchen features the essentials including an oven, stove, microwave, coffee maker, tea kettle, and toaster, as well as pots + pans, dishes, and utensils. There is WiFi access for streaming. Our street is resident parking only and NO off-street parking is available. You will not be able to park on our street. This generally is not a problem because Salem has multiple public lots and is also accessible by train & ferry. Parking can be found at the Museum Place Garage (about 3 blocks away), the MBTA garage (about 3 blocks away), or the Harbor Garage (on Derby St). You can travel to Boston via the commuter rail or Salem Ferry. When the weather is nice, the ferry is a lovely option. To get around Salem, most things are a short walk and the city is ideally traveled by foot. For some tourist sites or visiting neighboring towns, you may need a car, Lyft/Uber/taxi, or one of the Blue bikes (bike share rental). This is not an apartment for late-night gatherings. It is an older two-family building near other residential buildings. Sound travels easily and we ask you to please respect our quiet hours. Guest access The apartment has a shared entrance from the front door. Guests can access a patio that’s shared with the owners and their doggies. Guests are welcome to sit on the patio and enjoy the garden but we’d appreciate it if you didn’t invite people over without first checking with us. The fenced-in backyard is our private yard and is there for you to enjoy during your stay. We ask that you are mindful of noise levels and keep music down low after 10pm Other things to note There is NO SMOKING or vaping in the Apartment or on the premises. This includes the yard and patio. From 10 pm to 6 am, observe the quiet hours and be mindful of noise in the Apartment and front/back halls. We appreciate it! PLEASE READ the cancellation policy before booking. No exceptions! IMPORTANT: Our doggies find other dogs in the house very stressful. If, for any reason, you are considering bringing your dog (or any pet) with you, this is NOT the stay for you. Our booking policies state "No pets." Please choose another place to stay if you are traveling with your dog/pet.
