Experience the best of old Hawaii at Opaliuli Historic Estate. We are nestled in the privacy of almost ten acres of lush botanical gardens and jungle, in a convenient urban location. A unique and tranquil getaway, rich in island history and the perfect place to stay while you explore the East side of Hawaii Island. We are about 15 minutes from Hilo Airport, 30 minutes from Volcanoes National Park, 45 minutes from 'Akaka Falls and 20 minutes from Rainbow Falls. The space The Earhart Ohana Suite (Now with AC!) is said to be where Amelia Earhart used to stay with her traveling companion back when the estate was the Ola'a Sugar Planation Manager's home. It offers a private suite within our home that has 2 bedrooms, one bathroom and a private living room. Bedroom 1 has a queen sized bed, bedroom 2 has two twin beds and the living room has a pull out sofa bed. The private living room has its own Keurig coffee maker, microwave and mini fridge/freezer. Daily breakfast is also included in the dining room. **KITCHEN IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR GUEST USE** Guest access Our guests have shared access to our main living room, dining room, solarium, expansive front lanai and estate grounds. **KITCHEN IS NOT AVAILABLE TO GUESTs** During your stay Interaction is up to the guests. Some like to keep to themselves and their privacy is respected. If they are in need of advise and suggestions, I am happy to provide it. Other things to note Upon booking this unit, guests agree to indemnify and hold harmless Opaliuli Historic Estate, and the property Owners, its officers, agents, employees, and servants from all claims, suits, or actions of every name, kind, and description, brought for, or on account of: (A) injuries to or death of any person, or (B) damage to any property of any kind whatsoever and to whomsoever belonging, (C) any sanctions, penalties, or claims of damages resulting from guest's failure to comply with the house rules, host/manager directions, local laws, or (D) any other loss or cost, including but not limited to that caused by the concurrent active or passive negligence of Manager or Owner and its officers, agents, employees, or servants, resulting from the performance of any work, maintenance or other involvement required to maintain safe and comfortable rental unit.
