Abraham Lincoln was campaigning for President when George Hemmer laid the limestone foundation for his home in the hills overlooking Dubuque. Come experience unusual hospitality and a blend of history and modern comfort at today's Hemmer House. The space Experience a civil war era home with exposed brick, floor to ceiling windows, wavy glass, and a spiral walnut staircase with all the modern amenities you could want for a destination stay. Park your car in the 2 car attached garage after a day enjoying the Dubuque area attractions. Prepare a meal in the fully outfitted kitchen and serve it on the deck, the bar in the kitchen, or the large farmhouse table in the dining room. After an evening playing foosball, cards, or one of the retro arcade games, enjoy smores while relaxing around the fire pit with family and friends. When it's time to turn in, retire to one of the 4 comfortable bedrooms, each with a wireless phone charger. Guest access You have access to the entire property except the attic, basement, 3rd garage, several closets, and the fireplace.
