The yurt’s adjustable roof panels can be opened to let in fresh air and sounds of the woods—or keep them closed and enjoy electricity, lighting, and A/C for comfort in all seasons. Just steps away, you’ll find a clean composting toilet, and a short walk brings you to our open-air barn, which features an outdoor kitchen area with a microwave, refrigerator, and prep space—perfect for storing snacks, making simple meals, or keeping drinks cold during your stay. In the evening, gather around your own fire pit and enjoy the stars overhead. We provide dry firewood so you can easily kick back with s’mores, conversation, or a good book by the flames. Located on 35+ private acres, River Bark Retreat offers walking trails, wide open grassy areas, and peaceful forest paths to explore. This yurt is part of a larger, dog-friendly property, so feel free to bring your four-legged friend along for the adventure. There’s plenty of space to roam, sniff, and relax in nature together. Guest access Guests will enter the yurt using a secure keypad lock, with a passcode provided upon booking. You’ll have full access to the butterfly yurt, nearby composting toilet, fire pit, dock on the pond, and shared access to the open-air barn with microwave, refrigerator, and outdoor shower. The surrounding 35+ acre property, including walking trails and open spaces, is also yours to enjoy during your stay. Other things to note Other Things to Note: •We are proudly dog friendly—please let us know if you’re bringing a pet. •The pond is not fenced, so please supervise children and pets. •This is a glamping experience—you’ll be close to nature, and may hear or see wildlife. •The composting toilet is just outside the yurt; the outdoor shower, microwave, and refrigerator are located in the barn a short walk away. •Firewood is provided for your private fire pit. •Cell service is generally good, but Wi-Fi is not available in the yurt—perfect for unplugging! •We're just 20 minutes from Bogue Chitto State Park, where you can enjoy tubing, kayaking, hiking, and more—perfect for a daytime adventure!
