This warm and classically Hawaiian-decorated large two-bedroom (1,250 sq.ft w/ 250 sq.ft lanai) home is a unique offering at the resort. This home features sweeping panoramic views of the verdant Mauna Kahalawai (West Maui Mountains), frequent rainbow sightings, and a slight partial ocean view from the lanai, with no neighboring lanai oceanward. NOTE: Resort-wide exterior lanai and building painting to begin on the Konea tower July 2022 until Dec 2024. Power washing, painting, and scaffolding will be set up around the building. This unit's lanai has been completed and is fully accessible. The owners of this property love their winter escape to come enjoy the whales and all that Maui has to offer. Konea 204 is in spectacular condition with many custom touches throughout- brand new Acacia flooring ‘22, new furniture and appliances ‘21, and custom art pieces from around the state that bring vibrant color and warmth. In the other direction, you will find the partial ocean view overlooking Duke’s Beach House Restaurant and the island of Lanai. This balcony faces East, which makes for spectacular sunrises and a well-protected lanai area from the consistent prevailing trade winds. There is ample and comfortable seating in the living room area with two couches (one of them a pull-out sleeper sofa). This home away from home has all the comforts you would want with its well-equipped kitchen, ample beach gear, and gear for the little ones. Refined granite slabs, cherry cabinets, Bosch stainless steel appliances, porcelain tile, and lots of room to operate while making your favorite fish ceviche, or whatever you desire, while never losing sight of that gorgeous view. Owners and guests alike at Honua Kai can’t get enough of the open floor plans, which are further enhanced by a seamless transition between outdoor and indoor living areas through the glass Nanna wall doors. This property comfortably sleeps six, with a king bed in the two primary bedrooms and a pull-out sofa in the living room. The primary suites each have a very comfortable and large king bed, an adjoining ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower, a soaking tub, and a large granite slab with two separate sinks. With advanced notice, one of the primary suites, the King Bed, can be split into two twins. Guest acknowledges that the State of Hawaii is exposed to environmental hazards including, but not limited to, tidal waves, hurricanes and floods. Please refer to the local phone book for information pertaining to evacuation procedures. In the event of an emergency, the State of Hawaii utilizes a warning alert system (emergency sirens are tested on the first working day of every month at 11:45 a.m.). Guest is responsible for using their best efforts to familiarize themselves with property, its location, and surroundings. Some of the properties are in a remote location. As such, what would be considered normal response time for public services in an urban area may not be available in this location, i.e., police, fire, and emergency services. Also, naturally dwelling animals, reptiles and fauna are different then might be encountered in an urban setting and some might be considered “pests” by some individuals, i.e., centipedes, geckos, roaches, spiders, rodents, termites, mosquitoes, chickens and coqui frogs. You should be prepared to accept such inconveniences or discomfort as a normal and necessary aspect of renting a home in an area with strong rural character. Also, Guest acknowledges this is a binding contract and cannot be released from the contractual obligations upon arrival. Construction and Neighborhood Disclosure The guest acknowledges homes may be located in a residential setting. Hawaii Life and Owner are not responsible for any inconvenience caused by construction or noise associated with the neighborhood, including but not limited to barking dogs, noisy neighbors, cars, music, construction, events, etc. Guest may call Hawaii Life to inquire as to the status of any neighboring construction or events. Any refunds due to a cancellation resulting from noise shall be subject to the Cancellation Policy. Disclosure and Indemnity. Guest acknowledges, if applicable to Property, the existence of dangers associated with, but not limited to, hot tubs, BBQs, pools, saunas, gym (workout facility) equipment, rivers, lakes, oceans, ponds, playgrounds, golf balls, lofts and ladders. In addition, Guest acknowledges the existence of certain inherent risks to persons and property located in the vicinity of the ocean, including, but not limited to, high surf conditions, dangerous riptides, coral reefs, hurricanes, tropical storms. Guest acknowledges that the Owner would not rent the Property unless Guest fully accepted the risks associated with the Property and its location. In light of the foregoing, Guest agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Owner and Hawaii Life from and against any loss, liability, damage or expense (including legal fees and costs) that Guest may suffer, sustain or become subject to as a result of, or in connection with any injury, accident, or death arising from or related to Guest’s use of the Property. Furthermore, Guest assumes full responsibility for the Property, including its contents and Guest’s personal property. Guest shall take all reasonable steps to ensure that occupants adhere to all rules, regulations and laws affecting the Property. Guest shall not permit the use of pools, hot tubs or exercise equipment (if available) on the Property by any person under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or by unsupervised minor children. Guest acknowledges that Guest should take precautions when leaving the Property (e.g., lock all doors, including automobiles). Rental equipment used by the Guest is strictly at Guest’s own risk. Owner and Hawaii Life shall not be held responsible for any loss, damage, or additional expense incurred. Guest acknowledges that Owner and Hawaii Life are not responsible for loss of work due to utility outages. Theft/Burglary/Break In. Disclosure: For the safety of our guests, some homes may use exterior cameras. The home may or may not be equipped with an alarm system. The guest acknowledges that the Guest should take precautions when leaving the Property (e.g., lock all doors/windows, including automobiles). Should theft occur from either interior or exterior of the premises, the local Police should be called and make a police report. The Owner nor Hawaii Life is not responsible to relocate due to these circumstances. The Owner nor Hawaii Life shall not be held responsible for any loss, damage, or additional expense incurred, including reimbursement of rental funds or loss of personal items. We highly recommend a car. While most neighborhoods are walking friendly, most likely you will need a car to adventure to other areas of the island. House Guidelines 1. Please remove your shoes upon entering and make every effort to keep sand and dirt outside. If your home provides, please use the outdoor shower for rinsing off after a day of hiking or enjoying the beach. 2. Please notify the property manager immediately of any problems with the house so we may quickly address it. 3. Our home is in a residential area. Please be a thoughtful neighbor and keep noise, music, etc. to a minimum between 9:00 pm and 9:00 am. 4. Wrap, store or refrigerate all food and drinks to discourage pests. 5. Trash should always be bagged tightly in plastic bags and deposited in the trash cans. 6. Please feel free to do laundry while you are here. Washing towels and linens helps out during your stay. 7. This is a non-smoking home. 8. If your home offers air-conditioning. We kindly ask that your turn off the units when you are not occupying the rooms. Please let your property manager know should any leaks occur from the units. Check Out Procedures: Please check out at time provided, unless a late check out has been prearranged. Please wash and replace all dishes, cookware, food storage containers, and utensils in their proper place. Lock all doors and replace the key in the lock-box. A $25 fee is charged for lost key. Excessive cleaning, trash, sand in homes, and dirty laundry (more than one set of sheets per bed and two towels per person) will be charged an additional cleaning fee.
