Relax with the whole family at this rural retreat on a gravel road. Its convenient location lets you explore the driftless area. You may see wildlife and birds, insects and wildflowers. There could also be mud, dust or snow because the Midwest weather is always changing. It is cozy and comfortable in this farmhouse nestled in an oak grove. If you love the outdoors and Iowa, this place is for you! Pets are welcome, maximum of two with pet fee paid at booking. The space This is an older farmhouse that received a complete makeover in the past couple of years. There are a few steps to enter the home, but most of your basic needs are all on the first floor. It’s important to know that we don’t have a traditional kitchen range available. We do have a lot of small appliances available that can accommodate your cooking style with no problem. Or, enjoy our local restaurants!! We don’t have a dishwasher either but there’s a lovely spot to wash dishes by hand, or you can bring disposable dishes. The upstairs has a spot to sleep but not considered a bedroom; open area with a floor mattress and a love seat that folds out to a single bed. It now includes a TV and room darkening blinds. The outdoor spaces include a grassy area, a deck and a covered porch. We have minimal outdoor furniture; it's another thing on "our list" for future purchase. It's a lovely retreat with a lot of bird activity and wildlife nearby. Guest access The whole house is available. The yard includes some walking areas. The garage and barn are off limits. Other things to note This is in the country, so be prepared for gravel roads, birds and insects, and a drive to town if anything is needed. Nothing is far away but not walkable. We are in a great location for exploring the driftless area!
