Description

Enjoy ambiance, view and charm of this octagonal 5000 sq. ft. home centrally located at the western wilderness entrance to Glacier National Park. A short walk down the driveway lands you at the North Fork of the Flathead river. Swim across the river onto the banks of Glacier Park or turn left and walk across the bridge into the Park. The space The four story octagon design enhances the views from every room in the house. The fourth floor contains the cupola. Commanding 360 degree views into Canada and Glacier National Park can be enjoyed while relaxing or visiting with your group. Walk (along the river) to the historic Polebridge mercantile and village (about a mile from the driveway mailboxes. Here you can enjoy the bakery, restaurants, full bar and often live music during the summer months. The flat round surrounding the property makes for excellent bicycle riding or strolls into the game corridor that the property sits squarely within. Another highlight of this property is the proximity to the only local bridge crossing the river into Glacier National Park. There are some pretty spectaular fiord like lakes a short drive from here (Bowman, Kintla, Quartz, etc..). Also at the bridge is the convience of the river put in/take out for boating activities. Alternatively, in the opposite direction (west) exists some of the most wild National Forest land in the lower 48. Numerous remote dirt roads traverse this spectacular, but mostly overlooked natural wonder. Guest access The octagon consists of four stories; the cupola and the second and third floor are for guests' use. A wood fire sauna is an available unit unattached from the house (fire restrictions may apply in summer, via forest service). There is a lower garage parking for one vehicle with access into the main story of the house. The garden or greenhouse are avaible for access or use. The unfinshed basement and a small study will not be available for guest use, and a small closet on the second floor will not have access as well. There is also a lock out closet between bedrooms 1&2. . At your arrival the bottom door contains a key pad entry. Your combination provided at check in will unlock it. There is a separate generator shed/battery containing cabin near the main house. Next to the green house is the caretakers resisdence (trailer)/shop. Other things to note The remoteness of this tiny community allows for unparalled pristine waters, big game, mountain lakes and blessed calm. However, the visitor must develop a keen awareness that this is wilderness living and safety occurs through cultivating this awareness. The caretaker is happy to advise during your visit.
