Property located in a Tsunami Evacuation Zone The space Described by guests as “heaven on earth” and “otherworldly,” Kolohala on Kauai’s North Shore offers two king bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Upon request, guests may also have access to a third bedroom in a separate guest studio, featuring a queen bed a twin bed with trundle, single fold down couch, along with a third full bathroom. A small additional cleaning fee applies. If the studio is not needed, it will remain vacant and locked. Nature’s air conditioning: No traditional AC is needed. The home features expansive securely screened windows that allow Kauai’s natural trade winds to flow through the house when opened. High-quality fans are provided if additional cooling is desired, and nights are naturally very cool and comfortable on the North Shore. The property offers sweeping views of cascading mountains and lush tropical rainforest. The peaceful sounds of birds, roosters, and the gentle ocean breeze create a serene tropical atmosphere. Pasture animals may occasionally wander by for a visit, although the animals on the property may vary. A herd of gentle, majestic water buffalo is also expected to become the primary animal in the pasture behind the home. At night, be mesmerized by a galaxy of stars while listening to the powerful, soothing sound of the nearby ocean. Guest access Guests have private access to the entire main home, including all indoor living spaces, bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, wraparound lanai, outdoor areas, and gated yard. The separate guest studio is available upon request for an additional cleaning fee. If not requested, the studio will remain vacant and locked. The pasture is not available for guest access, although animals may occasionally be visible from the property. Other things to note House Guidelines • Driveway & Parking: Please keep vehicles on the driveway at all times. Please do not drive on the grass or gravel borders or make multiple-point turns. When departing, simply back out the same way you entered. Guests are responsible for any damage caused by driving off the driveway, including broken sprinkler heads. • Shoes, Sand & Outdoor Shower: Please remove shoes before entering the home to help protect the floors. A water spout is located near the entrance for rinsing sandy feet, and we recommend keeping a beach towel by the door for drying off. An outdoor shower is located on the side of the home. After visiting the beach, please rinse off sand using the outdoor shower before using the indoor showers. This helps protect the plumbing and keeps the home as sand-free as possible. The outdoor shower has both hot and cold water. Please make sure both faucets are fully turned off after use. • Plumbing Care: Our plumbing system is delicate. Please flush toilet paper only. • Furniture & Home Care: Please avoid rolling luggage directly on hardwood floors or countertops to help prevent scratches. We kindly ask that the provided drink coasters be used on all wood furniture and countertops. Please do not move furniture unless necessary, such as when using the fold-out sofa. If furniture is moved during your stay, please return it to its original location before departure. A minimum $100 fee may be assessed if furniture is not returned to its original arrangement. • Front Gate & Pasture: Please do not enter the pasture area. Kindly ensure the front gate is closed upon arrival and departure, as well as anytime you leave the property during your stay. • Landscaping: Our landscaping includes carefully placed gravel, coral, and stones that help preserve the beauty of the property. If you are traveling with children, we kindly ask that they not move, stack, or rearrange these materials, as they can be difficult to return to their original placement. A fee may be charged if significant time or effort is required to restore the landscaping to its original arrangement. • Sunscreen & Self-Tanner: Please refrain from applying self-tanner or spraying sunscreen inside the home to help protect the furnishings, flooring, and linens. • Glass Shower Enclosure: Please avoid leaning on or applying pressure to the glass shower enclosure in the primary bathroom. • Grill: If you use the grill, please leave it in the same clean condition in which you found it. • Lights & Insects: Please turn off all interior lights whenever you leave the house. In our tropical environment, lights left on after dark can attract insects, which may enter the home when doors are opened upon your return. • Wildlife & Nature: Kauaʻi is a tropical paradise, and occasional encounters with small geckos, insects, or other harmless signs of island wildlife are a normal part of life here. As with homes and hotels throughout Kauaʻi, these may occasionally be seen both inside and outside the home and are part of the charm of experiencing the island’s natural environment. • No Air Conditioning: The island’s natural trade winds and cool evening breezes typically keep the home comfortable. We encourage you to enjoy the fresh air through the screened windows and experience natural island living. Evenings are comfortably cool year-round for sleeping. • Power Outages & Storms: Due to Kauaʻi’s tropical climate, occasional storms or brief power outages may occur. Refunds cannot be provided for rare weather-related outages. Airbnb offers travel insurance for guests who would like additional peace of mind in the event of unexpected travel disruptions. • Security Cameras: For security purposes, three exterior cameras are located at the driveway, front entry, and back pasture. These cameras monitor only entry and exit points and do not record any interior or private outdoor living areas. • Maintenance Access: While we strive to provide a quiet and private experience and schedule maintenance around guest stays whenever possible, Kauaʻi Vacation Rentals or maintenance personnel may occasionally require access to exterior yard areas for necessary or scheduled maintenance. We kindly ask guests to allow access to gated outdoor areas if needed. If interior access is ever required, advance notice will always be provided. We schedule work thoughtfully, aim to minimize disruption, and respect your privacy. Please note that necessary maintenance and property upkeep do not qualify for refunds. • Starter Supplies: We provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a starter supply of coffee to help you settle in. If any of these items are missing upon arrival, please let us know so we can have them delivered. These items are not replenished during your stay, so we recommend bringing or purchasing any additional supplies you may need. • Pack ’n Play & Toddler Cot: A Pack ’n Play and toddler cot are available for use. Pack ’n Play sheets are provided. Please use the protective padding provided underneath the Pack ’n Play to help protect the floors.
