This is real Hawaii. Located at 900 ft. elevation, where the fruit trees grow, the trades blow gently and keep the temperature 10°'s cooler and less humid than by the ocean. Just 4 miles to town where there are many restaurants to choose from and minutes to the nearest beach where the sea turtles are sunning themselves on the shore. This one-acre estate is in one of Kona's safest and most desirable neighborhoods and has been called one of Kona's most beautiful botanical gardens. The space The ohana (guest suite) is attached to the main house where Ken and I live quietly. You will have your own private entrance and designated parking space just steps away from your front door. The covered entryway has two lounge chairs, perfect to enjoy your morning coffee and take in the lush garden views. The ohana opens up to a well-equipped kitchenette with toaster oven, microwave, two burner induction stove top, mini fridge (separate freezer for the ice cream fans), pots, pans, and basic seasonings. Adjacent to the kitchen is the dining room table that looks out onto the lush gardens and birds flocking to the “bird buffet” hanging outside the window. The spacious living room features a rattan ceiling fan, TV with access to Netflix and Amazon movies, queen size futon, twin size futon, the most comfortable reading chair, and an extensive book collection to pique your interest. You’ll be surrounded by lush tropical vegetation seen from both windows with a partial ocean view to the west. The hallway leads to the full bathroom with a tub/shower on one end, and the bedroom on the other. The bedroom also has a ceiling fan, air conditioning, comfortable king bed, and a spacious closet. This lush estate has many fruit trees including mango, avocado, fig, star fruit, papaya, pineapple, banana, and citrus that will available to you depending on what is in season. In the garden, there are herbs such as rosemary, thyme, mint, with a few other vegetables I rotate throughout the year such as lettuce, kale, arugula, tomatoes, beets, and spinach that are also available to you. For the beach, we offer beach towels, lounge chairs, coolers, a sun umbrella, and boogie boards you’re welcome to use. We also have two kitties (Mango-Orange/White and Cleocatra -Grey) who roam around the grounds and will leave you alone unless you want to offer affection, as they will be happy to receive it. Guest access You will have access to the entire ohana, designated parking, entryway seating area, and lawn swings. There is a spacious grassy lawn with seating areas to enjoy the sunset or have your morning coffee. On the lower level of the property is the fruit orchard and botanical gardens; bring your camera and enjoy.
