Our property is located in Lower Puna where lava flows occurred from May 3 until August 4, 2018. Fortunately, our house was not destroyed by the flows as sadly was the case for many of our neighbors. The lava did enter our orchard and transformed the landscape around us. The property is now isolated with no surface access possible. We will not be accepting bookings until utilities and county road access have been restored. The space A stay at the MacNut Farm House makes it possible to experience an authentic Hawaii different from the typical resort environments many visitors encounter. Guests have most of the creature comforts that make for a vacation experience while living on their own 7 acre piece of paradise. Guest access During your stay you will have full access to our 6+ acre property most of which is an orchard with over 500 macadamia nut trees. Our caretaker, Mat, who lives on the property is available to answer questions about local resources as well as address other needs that might come up during your stay. Other things to note We are "off the grid" in our location which means all our electricity is provided by our solar power system. There is also no land line so you should check with your cell phone carrier to see if service is available. We do have WiFi available in and around the Farm House.
