The space This Sea Captain's home has been fully modernized with central A/C and heat, a generator that turns on in case of blackouts, and fiber optic dedicated internet. The kitchen features a commercial 4-burner stove + griddle and extra large oven, as well as a stand mixer, waffle maker and other conveniences. Laundry room with 2 washers and dryers. The outdoor space has a grill, hammock, tree swing, fire pit, outdoor shower, loungers, tables and chairs to complete the experience while you relax in the incredible gardens. The house itself was built in the 1780s by Captain Isaiah Clark, with kitchen and laundry area added in 1834. A full remodel in the 1980s added individual bathrooms for each bedroom and extended the sunroom, porch and outdoor areas. A former inn, the bedrooms feature luxury beds, linens, ceiling fans and blackout curtains for amazing sleep as well as TVs. 5 fireplaces, including 2 in common areas and 3 in bedrooms, have been converted to electricity. The entire house and property will be available for the exclusive use of your party when rented this way, including the kitchen and other common areas. Guest access You couldn't ask for easier access! Located on route 6A, there is on-site parking for at least 7 cars. We are walking distance from several shops and restaurants, as well as Paines Creek Beach, and just a short drive to most other attractions. Other things to note The gardens are a sight to behold every season of the year, with daffodils, roses, hydrangeas, lilacs, lilies and peonies among just some of the spectacular backdrops that attract every variety of bird and butterfly in the area. A raised garden bed in the back is fully stocked with fresh herbs that our guests are welcome to use during their stay. In the Fall, the giant maple tree next to the barn turns yellow, the burning bushes and winterberries out front explode with red, and the 200-year-old apple trees fill with fruit perfect for pies. The climate is surprisingly moderate all year long, making it a great 4-season destination. The house has 5 original fireplaces, including 2 in living room areas and 3 in bedrooms. All have been converted to electric for easy use and extra coziness on rainy days. Our bedrooms and baths all feature luxurious accommodations - full linens are provided, including feather toppers for the beds, quilts and duvets, Turkish cotton bath towels, toiletries and extra-large beach towels.
