The space Our almost-100 year old cottage overlooks Buttermilk Bay, and is a much-loved family home, where we have gathered regularly for more than fifty years. While we have upgraded with some modern conveniences, the home has a quirky old school charm, is rich in architectural character, and is a throwback in time in many ways. If you are looking for modern, state of the art, and upscale amenities in a luxurious setting, perhaps this treasured home is not for you. If you do choose to stay, we hope that you will treat our house with the utmost care and respect. It will be a waterfront getaway you will not forget, and we will do our very best to help you feel at home. New waterfront upgrades were completed in December 2024! Photos will be posted in the spring of 2025. Guests may safely access the water from the property using our newly installed granite stairway. Even without going on the beach, rest assured the views from the grass are spectacular! The house has a brick stair way entry into the porch which may be difficult for elderly or infirm adults or small children to climb. The stairs going up to the second floor are also quite steep and narrow and may not be appropriate for older adults or small children. We apologize that we are not suitable for all. Sleeping Arrangement: Maximum 6 Guests First Floor: BR with Double bed Second Floor: 2 Bedrooms, each with one queen bed and one twin bed Note: check drawers for extra sheets and blankets. There is a shower and tub in the upstairs bathroom. The downstairs bathroom is quite small and has no shower/tub. Our kitchen should meet all of your basic cooking needs! Let us know ahead of time if you need something out of the ordinary, and we will do our very best to accommodate. Our fully winterized porch is ready for you to sit and enjoy your morning coffee while soaking in some glorious views of the bay and natural surroundings. The porch is our primary living space and also offers a cozy spot to chat, read, or simply relax. - Laundry is available in the kitchen - for small loads only. Feel free to leave sheets and towels for us! -House is located just 1 mile from the Cape Cod Canal and the Railroad Bridge - great for bicycling, walking, running, and more. We encourage you to put your bikes on your car bike rack and drive to Buzzards Bay Park, right at the Railroad Bridge. - Outdoor dining set and chairs available. -Weekly trash and recycling pick up. Guest access Guests can access entire house and yard except for garage and 3-4 small locked closets. Other things to note No pets on the property, indoors or outdoors. No smoking anywhere on the property. Maximum of 6 occupants overnight. NO PARTIES.
