Bright, cozy, spacious cottage in the Stillwater State Forest. It's newly furnished with fully equipped kitchen including brand-new appliances, beds & bath with all amenities, new linens, plush towels, washer/dryer etc. lake. This unique property, nestled next to state forest offers complete privacy; very peaceful and quiet, yet a short distance to the beautiful sights & activities that Montana has to offer! It is an ideal mountain retreat for all seasons! A true 'getaway' in every way! The space This sweet cottage is perfect for a relaxed get-away and also offers many activities that you can explore. There is a king bed in the Master with an attached bathroom and a double bed in the upstairs loft (accessible by a custom built wood & metal ladder) plus a memory foam pad and feather bed top. A beautiful deck with patio set & new BBQ overlooks the forest & the lake. We can add continental breakfast and stock your pantry & refrigerator; once you've arrived, there's no need to leave the property! You can spend some of your days exploring what Northern Montana has to offer and, what we think is even more special, just enjoying the lovely surroundings, walking in the woods, sitting on the sunny deck reading, relaxing surrounded by the forest. New deck furniture and a gas grill complement our indoor/outdoor living space. The owner lives in the main house approx 100 yards from the cottage and maintains a bountiful produce garden during the summer which all guests are welcome to enjoy! A short 30-minute drive from Whitefish on the scenic Highway 93 leads you to Lupfer Loop Road where you continue on a very picturesque 2 1/2 mile dirt road to our cottage in the woods. There is limited internet & cell service depending on your provider. Our guesthouse is intentionally off the grid! Pets are welcome with a $75.00 service fee. Special discounted winter rates are available from November through April! 30 day minimum stay required. Guest access This retreat offers year-round scenic sights and activities. In the winter, you can enjoy cross-country skiing, snowshoeing (2 pairs supplied) from your door and dog sledding, snowmobiling, etc close by. Or drive to our local ski resort, Big Mountain, in 45 minutes. In the other seasons, there is hiking, biking, backpacking, fishing, boating, swimming, wildlife viewing, horseback riding, golf (half a dozen plus within a 50-mile radius) and more. Whitefish is close-by(25 min.drive) with upscale restaurants, movie theatre, live entertainment, great local shopping, art galleries in a casual western setting. And, of course, we are the gateway to Glacier National Park, entrance to this magnificent park is approximately 50 minutes away. Summer brings lots of park visitors so travel times can vary. Other things to note Dogs welcome with a pet fee of $75.00 Offering a discounted rate for renters looking for a long-term winter rental; February thru April!! 4-wheel drive vehicles with snow tires/chains necessary for the snowy season
