Stay in our spare bedroom with a queen Tempur-Pedic bed, pack n play for the little one, and a desk to work at. Part of a 3 bed, 2 bath, home just a 1/2 mile from hopping East Village of Davenport. High-speed fiber internet, fenced backyard w/ playground & deck, kitchen gadgets galore, big screen w/ netflix, washer/drier, baby-proofed, toys, & books. Free on street parking. Eco friendly too: solar, compost, garden, clothesline, insulated. Hosts are friendly & professional. Listing if you want the whole house: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/26502043 Our house combines 1930's charm with modern comfort and convenience in historic McClellan Heights. Perfect for young and old with a fenced backyard, playground and deck, and located near the happening East Village. The Village combines quaint history with a happening local scene that has good food and drink, live music, shopping, tasty treats at Lagomarcino's. The Village is just a stone's throw from the Mighty Mississippi with a trail and river taxi right there! http://www.villageofeastdavenport.com/ We're also close to outdoor fun (and several bikes and trailers if you wish) Duck Creek Park: trails, tennis courts, golf course, and so on http://cityofdavenportiowa.hosted.civiclive.com/cms/One.aspx?portalId=6481456&pageId=9217441 McKinley elementary: playground, track, field, basketball hoops The kitchen is fully stocked with a Kitchen-Aid stand mixer and a food processor, Vitamix, Instant pot pressure cooker (we were hip to that scene back in 2013 folks) dishwasher, waffle maker, all sorts of pots and pans and so on--if you like to cook, you'll like our kitchen. We have a super comfortable king-size Tempur-pedic in our bedroom and a queen-size Tempur-Pedic in another. The third bedroom has a crib, but we have 5 air mattresses including a pretty posh one that you could set up wherever, plus a pack-n-play portable crib. Beautiful wooden arches divide the entryway, living room, and dining room. A sunroom looks out onto the wooden deck with a FULL patio set and charcoal grill. We have awesome internet, and a large TV hooked up to a Roku (for netflix, and whatever else). We'll provide soap, shampoo, towels and so on. The upstairs has a tub! The basement has a clothes washer and drier (or hang dry if you want to save some energy and freshen up those clothes properly :) We also have solar panels, compost, an expanding garden, and are finishing up insulating the home. Hosts want to be helpful and make you a return visitor! We are both young professionals. You can access most anything in our house, just please treat it with love as if it was yours. We will be home while you stay at our house and you can call/text us if you have any questions when we're not home. We can interact a lot or none, depending on your preference on our schedules. Our house is in the perfect location for fun and essentials. We are 1/2 mile from the cute Village of East Davenport which boasts a great scene of bars and eateries, a little theater, and local softball games all right by the Mississippi river. Along the river is an excellent bike path called the Mississippi River Trail. The neighborhood is called McClellan Heights. It is very established with amazing old houses, no two of which are alike so it's a real treat to meander by when taking a walk. For kids, we have lots of toys plus partially fenced in swings, slide, and lots more like that nearby. As for essentials, stores are numerous with Starbucks, Home Depot, and more just a mile away; ALDI, Save-A-Lot, and more two miles away towards downtown, and Hy-Vee (groceries), Dollar General, and more two miles north, and a mall and many other shops a little farther. Some other attractions include water taxis on the Mississippi River, Figge Art Museum, Putnam Museum and Science Center, Family Museum, River Bandits baseball park (beautiful right on the Mississippi), West Lake Beach, and Buffalo Shores Beach. We love the area. Let us know how we can help you enjoy it! We recommend you take a stroll down to the East Village or into Duck Creek Park. We live near two bus lines (7 and 8) but they only run once an hour, less on weekends. If you'd like to borrow bikes please make arrangements with us. Please do not use the fireplace or the drier without asking and making sure they are set up properly.
